Severe Weather Thread

yes. given the size of the tornado and how long it stayed on the ground (nearly from one side of the state to the other) and the number of populated areas it hit I'd be shocked if we don't pass 100.

I will say the weather people did a fantastic job of letting people know what was coming. They saved a ton of lives today.

I was thinking the same thing. I have never seen a tornado tracked live like a high speed car chase.
You put this path of tornadoes in a populated area 50 or so years ago and you are talking Katrina death toll numbers.

All right, im going to bed. I think we're safe here.

All you still in the way of this mess be safe.

a friend told me I was overreacting for leaving class early to go back to Fountain City at around 7. Now her car is smashed in, both windshields, and mine is completely unscathed up here. Guess I was right...

Hey, how you guys doing? Ringold is basically destroyed from what I heard.

No damage personally. But yes, parts of Ringgold got destroyed. Schools, bank, 3 story hotel, and several other businesses hit hard. Reports of county requesting mobile morgue but have not actually heard of any deaths yet.

Anyone hearing anything out Dandridge or Morristown area?

That is where my brother and his family live. He is in the basement and seems pretty nervous.

Just saw this as well:

A person from 103.7 reported on Facbook..

"I have spoken with a friend of mine that works at the hospital in Tuscaloosa. She said that there are hundreds of fatalities that haven't been reported yet. A housing project was completely leveled and that's where the deaths are. To quote emergency workers, "bodies laying everywhere!"
