Severe Weather Thread

After it was over with, I was outside checking for damages, and some elderly lady came up and said her husband was trapped. Grabbed the chainsaw and didn't stop cutting trees till rescue got there. I don't think my heart has ever beat faster then when hearing that guy yell for help. Im still rattled...

I can't tell you how many times I heard the local guys say "I've never seen anything like this". When they added, our radar can't measure the wind speed - it's too high; it got pretty damn real.

I was streaming Reed Timmer from when the Tornado first formed in Mississippi until he pulled off just east of Tuscaloosa. That son-gun got bigger between Tuscaloosa and Bham. On the radar, you could actually see the debris field inside the vortex.

Nice work GASV

Saying 64 total dead now. Incredibly sad.

yes. given the size of the tornado and how long it stayed on the ground (nearly from one side of the state to the other) and the number of populated areas it hit I'd be shocked if we don't pass 100.

I will say the weather people did a fantastic job of letting people know what was coming. They saved a ton of lives today.

not sure where the safe place inside was...

The rear windshield of my car was destroyed by hail.

From what I've seen on the news, that puts me among the lucky ones.

Are you close to Eagles Landing subdivision off 193? I've heard there were several homes destroyed there.
