NC State is not a particularly good job. They've been irrelevant for years, and they have a serious case of little brother syndrome (a) that is never going away and (b) which will always be a detriment in recruiting.

if you go back and look I edited the post. I know this is UT board but understand that NC State is a great job...not sure how UT pays their coaches but like FSU/NCState those salary/raises come from tax money not from a UAA budget like Florida. If he speaks to Billy G or Anthony Grant about either job I'm sure they'll both tell him that NC State is a "better" road to travel. Guy spent years at Clemson so the ACC connect is already in place.

I don't think Kentucky is the best team in the Nation, its just been a crazy tourney and they have played consistent. Kentucky should win the NC.

Just think of how good Florida would have been this year if Knight would have stuck to his original commitment to Florida. They were already a good team, but add Knight into the mix and they would be in the final four right now.

Knight was always going to Cal, I mean Kentucky. He spoke out of turn without consulting Uncle Wes.

I'd agree that NC State will forever be #3 in its home state. Makes it a lot harder to build a program in my opinion. Bias aside, UT is a better job anytime other than perhaps now...

UT is in a tough spot with some of these names bc of everything that has happen(ing)...atp its a career risk for guys like Smart,Chris Mooney and Mack. Guys like Tom Crean, Dixon and Brad Steven's seem happy with their current jobs..Grant and Cunzo Martin would be great candidates.

seems like a good young coach...surprised he didn't take the Mizzo job.
