shake up at Ginn Racing

So DEI's potential stable of drivers could be Truex, Menard, Almirola and... Kyle Busch??

Is that official?

Last I heard he was happy/content at JGR despite the Milwaukee debacle.

Where are you getting the TEI/Ginn stuff? Sounds like something Jayski would come up with.

I've heard that on several NASCAR practice and qualifying broadcasts as well as radio shows. Seems to be a very hot rumor in the garage.

Although there is precedence for such a thing to happen, that's how TEI got Menard and the Menards sponsorship. Basically bought out Andy Petree's team.

...and what happened to all of Ginn's money? There was all that talk about them becoming the next super team and now they're being bought out just a few months later?

It's obvious that Ginn is having financial troubles (laying off people, losing sponsors in the middle of a season), so common sense would tell you he'd be willing to listen to offers to sell it off and become a partnership or something. DEI is looking to rebuild and add another team... perfect fit.

i'm not buying it, yet. i guess i need to here it myself and listen to SIRIUS this week.

not after these moves they're making.

hey, i don't blame you for not buying it yet, with NASCAR rumors, they can change daily, but this one seems very likely.

They (Ginn) seem to be locking themselves in to Almirola and Smith (and Martin, for however long he sticks around, which will probably be until he dies).

TEI would have to inhale another team in order to have 4 cars (if that's their goal) since they don't have 3 viable teams right now with what they've got.

I don't know what the deal is with Regan Smith. He's had some opportunities this year in the 01 car (albeit a few) and hasn't done very much in that car. I don't know how attached they are to him and if anyone else is high on him. If the 13 and 14 are in financial trouble though, he may not have a ride if DEI can't find a sponsor for the car. They may just want the 01 car.

R. Smith has performed pretty well in the Busch Series races I've seen him in this year. I think he's one of those that just needs time to develop before he's thrown to the wolves in the Cup Series full time.

TEI could just be interested in the owner points of the #13 and #14... which really aren't guaranteed at this point. I imagine they're both right there around the 35th spot.

Yeah, Regan has performed real well in the Busch Series and I wish Ginn would just let him focus only on the Busch Series this year.

says on NASCAR.com that both Nemechek and Marlin have been released so, they are basically starting over. Very confusing though, we all heard how Ginn was supposedly a player in the Dale Jr. race and was interested in Kyle Busch, now they are releasing drivers and losing sponsors mid-season. Very strange...
