shake up at Ginn Racing

says on NASCAR.com that both Nemechek and Marlin have been released so, they are basically starting over. Very confusing though, we all heard how Ginn was supposedly a player in the Dale Jr. race and was interested in Kyle Busch, now they are releasing drivers and losing sponsors mid-season. Very strange...
No kidding, that's what I was wondering when I questioned all that talk about Ginn becoming some new super team.

Marlin to Morgan-McClure? Sterling Marlin may not be without a Nextel Cup ride for long. Late Tuesday a team source at Morgan-McClure Racing which currently fields the #4 Chevy with veteran Ward Burton said that officials there are in discussions with Marlin for a possible second team.(Cup Scene Daily)(7-18-2007)

Sterling Marlin Comments on His Release: Sterling Marlin spoke about his release Tuesday afternoon on "Sirius Speedway" with host Dave Moody:
Marlin: "I was planning on cutting back next year but still would have liked to finish the year out like you're supposed to and do everything that was in the contract that we're supposed to do and we just don't look like we're gonna do it."
Moody: "What's next for you? Do you go out there and beat the bushes for another ride or not?"
Marlin: "No. No. I mean, I've had some guys call already and we've just got to get this contract worked out. Like I said, I've got a contract with them. We've just got to come together and see what we're gonna do. Let the lawyers handle it and if I want to run somebody's car next year I can run somebody's car [for] 15-20 races next year. Or, somebody's Busch car. I still enjoy racing, still enjoy it a lot. The travel part of it is getting old but as far as firing a car up on Sunday, there's nothing like it. We'll see what happens. I've got a ton of things going on around here but it's still fun to race, too." (Sirius Radio)(7-18-2007)

"I still enjoy collecting that check, still enjoy it a lot. The travel part of it is getting old but as far as firing up that money machine on Sunday, there's nothing like it. We'll see what happens. I've got a ton of things going on around here but it's still fun to make all of that money, too."

Fixed your quote, Sterling.

it's official, Ginn and DEI merger to take place this weekend. Mark Martin is now a member of DEI, kind of weird. Paul Menard picks up the owner points for the 13 car, so he's locked in this weekend.

Completely ridiculous that it's possible, but a good move by TEI to ensure Menard makes the races. Now he just has to keep it in the top 35.

Good move by Teresa....Mark Martin is already committed to atleast 22 races next year and long-term with the developmental driver program... who better to learn from???

Menard better enjoy his 1 race that hes locked in... I bet hes not locked in next week

Regan Smith got SCREWED........

I read this somewhere else, but it makes pretty good sense.

01 Martin/Almirola
1 Truex Jr
8 Smith
15 Menard

Smith won't be in the 8, no way. DEI is going to sign someone bigger than Regan Smith, most likely Kyle Busch.

I would say Busch to DEI, but for who. Menard, Truex, and Almirola and Martin will all be there next season. What's going to happen To Smith?

let's face it, who would you rather have, Regan Smith or Kyle Busch? Send Smith on his way and hope he hooks on with someone else, but Busch can get into the Chase for your company right now, while Smith is still several years from competing.

That's true kkep. I really don't know how this is going to turn out. If I was Kyle, Ginn/TEI would be my last option.

I think the one thing that could draw Busch to TEI, and possibly the only thing, is the possibility to be endorsed by Budweiser. Getting Bud as a sponsor these days would really help him some with the fans, and not to mention make him a ton of money. If Budweiser decides to go with Kahne, then going to TEI would prob be my last option as well. If the rumors that Newman may be headed to Gibbs and the opportunity to be with his brother at Penske opens up, then he'd jump all over that.

How? Didn't Kurt think the same thing?

Kyle doesn't exactly seem like the type that concerns himself with what the fans think, anyway, and I don't see why he or any other driver really should.
