If it went down like everyone saying that he is the barrier, trying to scam tennessee out of all the money the measley bas**rd can get. If I were gruden and wanted the job he needs to be negotiating directly to UT...
This is for you ricky bobby f***u
And this isn't fantasyland
THIS IS TENNESSEE!!!!!
One more thing you make me sick Bobby arghhhhhh puke puke!
Most of the major national radio networks are saying that U.T. and Gruden's camp did not even discuss money..
My belief is that: Hart did not want Gruden because Gruden would be a rock star and Hart would not any meaningful control over the football program. The football program would be Gruden's, 100%..
Power struggle!! SO my guess is that Hart didn't want Gruden but spoke to him just to please the fans.....
All of this just makes me glad that we did not get Gruden. Gruden has been fired twice......will he get fired by a third NFL team if he decides to go back to coaching? I am looking forward to welcoming a new coach who has the VOLS best interest at heart!
You guys defending Gruden and Lamonte make me sick. I don't care what the circumstances are - wanting a good coach for Vols is not an fantasy. It may be to jackass sports agents but it isn't to me and my family. He's pissing in my backyard and I don't think it's funny. Screw them both.
:good!:
Beef, all he needed to say was "not interested"
When he added on the "fantasy world" quote is where he messed up.
The price is wrong bob

Here's my problem with this...
Why even mention the phone call from Hart? It could have easily been settled with a press announcement saying "Gruden is committed to ESPN and is not interested in coaching at this time." So why even mention UT at all? Everyone with a football program from Division 1 schools to Kansas City Community College and Hair Care parlor starts their list off with Jon Gruden when looking for a head coach. So the question is...
Why was Tennessee singled out and why was the phone call specifically mentioned? There was interest from probably a dozen schools in "fantasy land" looking for a coach.
To me, this gives a bit more creedence to the smoke and mirrors play. If you want some room to maneuver and negotiate, thrown off the scent someplace else. This weekend it was all about the championship games and a story like this would have over shadowed all of them. Does make one wonder?
It would be my guess that UT was singled out because he was specifically asked about Tennessee. He was probably specifically asked about Tennessee because of all the rumors being floated around.
I will admit it is odd to mention the phone call with Hart.
But still don't understand why people are upset with Gruden's agent for doing his job.
I'm not as concerned with him doing his job as much as the verbiage used. You don't start negotiations with potential suitors by kicking them in the nuts and saying they live in fantasy land. You start nice and get mean when you have to. Frankly, he set the tone (hostile in my opinion) for future negotiations. And that won't bode so well for his client.
Also, just an interesting tidbit. Lamonte also represents Andy Reid. Would this be a conflict of interests reference the Philly rumors?
