99,123 = Attendance for Dooley's opener
97,169 = Attendance for Butch Jones opener

Thats a damn shame.

Now for the scary 1st game similarities....

332 rushing yards in Dooleys opener
335 rushing yards for Butch Jones

17-30 for 205 passing (Dooley)
15-21 for 132 passing (Jones)

Time of possession

33:21 (Dooley)
30:16 (Jones)

Total number of plays 73 (Dooley), 73 (Jones)

Dooleys opener 50-0
Jones opener 45-0

I know were in better hands now but just when I was getting excited out of my mind, I did a little research and quickly came back down to earth. Still crazy excited but this is just a little reality check.

I'll be honest, I didn't even watcht the 2nd half. I would bet UT called off the dogs but had they wanted could have scored 100 if they wanted to.

Shameful: Dooley NEVER had a chance to play the 2nd team his entire three years unless by attrition or injury.

Scary: A multitude freshman got playing experience last night and we let off the gas big time in the 2nd half...another opportunity Dooley never was able to generate. 2nd teamers played entire half of football last night.

Objectivity goes a long way in perspective.

Dooley played a Montana team that hung tough and he accumulated his stats entirely with the first team offense.

Butch accumulated 80 percent of his stats in a single half. The first team offense never touched the field in the second half.

The shame is that you actually took the time to look up anything about Dooley and then post it on here.

That is in no way complaining. Just pointing out that we looked pretty darn good after game one in 2010 too. Like I said im still crazy excited about Butch and this team.

By the way 5 penalties for 25 yds in Dools opener.

The only "reality check" I see from this game and those stats is that you can't determine too much from a cupcake game. We committed zero penalties though and that's huge for any game.

It began because I wondered what he attendance was, then I just noticed the similarities. Yes, I had 30 seconds to spare.

Was that the Martin game? AP vs Martin would be a good game. Butch called off the dogs at halftime. He could have pulled a Georgia Tech if he wanted but he has class.
