North koreas plan of shooting the infected seems like the most proven way of dealing with spread of disease. The disease needs a living host. Unfortunately this is America so this isnt happening, that we know of.

Short of that you could order martial law and lock everyone down in their houses not allowed outside at all. Unfortunately this is still America, and this did not happen.

After that there are any number of reasonable options.

I would say shutting down outdoor parks, releasing inmates, and jailing non maskers was counterproductive in the extreme. Unfortunately this is America and this did happen in a lot of the coronabro states of "science".

My "perfect" world looks a lot like Sweden. Lock down the at risk, let the rest of us go about your day. Avoids destroying everyone's rights. Avoids taxing the healthcare system. Allows the economy to keep relatively ticking along. Doesnt wait on a vaccine.

Funny that the number 1 method of protecting yourself comes with specific cya language saying that the masks dont actually protect the user from covid. Both manufacturers and the CDC have said as much.

So people shouldn't wear a mask to protect others around them?

Considering their role is to keep you from coughing or sneezing on other people it seems like overkill as not coughing or sneezing on others should be basic hygiene.

Especially to the point of jailing/arresting people.

The answer is no.

And it's still an incredibly dumb argument to say its Trump supporters not wearing masks. Go amongst the demographics that arent voting Trump and you wont see much mask wearing unless it's a bunch of rich yuppy Karen's.
