I don’t view the world as a safe place regardless of where you live. Including the US. With regard to freedom and safety, you’re probably relatively safe locked up in solitary in the big house but you’re most definitely not free. In gen pop you’re still not free but I’d say not as safe. They probably aren’t mutually exclusive but also I’d expect a pretty weak correlation if there is one.

We had a bad experience with a stalker and Facebook. A guy Red went on one date with when she was 16 started sending messages too her. He then just happened to show up at 2 places she was at. We hadn’t seen this guy in 25 years. A FBI buddy said he was using “messenger “ on Facebook to track her.
That was the final straw for us. We decided if you don’t text or call then we don’t need to know what you’re doing.

I’ll leave out the part of the story where I took her phone and waited for him to show up. But you can imagine how that went down.
