Shooting in El Paso

Economically, sure. I'm sure, given the choice - the third world immigrants would choose a country where they weren't vilified as rapists and murders. It's a matter of geography for most - if your standard is comparing immigration from third world countries... Versus how the U.S. compares against other first world countries in terms of the things I mentioned, you're going to have a bad time.
That isn’t my standard. I just said “for many” I didn’t even claim a simple majority. I was just pointing out that for a good portion of immigrants there is most likely a safety upgrade. People immigrating from Europe or Asia are most likely driven by education or economic reasons.

The Chicago "teens" need to shoot more than 1 or 2 at a time if they want to make the list.
There was a list item where 5 people were injured by indirect fire from some idiot shooting at the ground 😂 that list is the definition of a joke used as data.

There's this wonderful thing called Google where when you type in list of mass shootings 2019 you get this as your top result

List of mass shootings in the United States in 2019 - Wikipedia
That stat is BS. A couple people break into a home and get shot and wounded and that’s considered a mass shooting? The same reporting is standard across all those counties listed and Mexico only has 3?

Quit doing Putin’s bidding by spreading fake news

That’s the whole point. That’s why they reduced the number required.

To me, his politics are invalid because whatever he claims they are, he's obviously bastardized and exaggerated them in his own maniacal mind into something they weren't intended to be.

We've got to get off this slippery slope of illogically blaming people for things over political identity.
Anyone who wants to make policy decisions based on the beliefs of an evil psychopath should be forever ignored.

Well... So? Without trying to sound like I'm in a ivory tower, my standards on where the U.S. ought to be on "exceptionalism" isn't going to be determined by what third world immigrants think. In terms of first world comparisons, "we're" not that exceptional in terms of safety, culture or general wellbeing and happiness. Economically, we're at the top of the food chain, sure - but that clearly isn't the end of the conversation.

We had a bad experience with a stalker and Facebook. A guy Red went on one date with when she was 16 started sending messages too her. He then just happened to show up at 2 places she was at. We hadn’t seen this guy in 25 years. A FBI buddy said he was using “messenger “ on Facebook to track her.
That was the final straw for us. We decided if you don’t text or call then we don’t need to know what you’re doing.

I’ll leave out the part of the story where I took her phone and waited for him to show up. But you can imagine how that went down.
That really sucks. Understandable that you guys took that step.

I agree. The guy is a wack job who needed an excuse to act out. His political views are irrelevant

Why do you think we disagree, especially on the bolded? If people are naive that’s on them.

Because you said this as a direct rebuttal to the first time I stated this:

We are an exceptional country in very many ways. If we aren’t why the hell are so many people working so damn hard to get here?

Of course he was a whack job. We reserve the term terrorist for brown folks. Whenever they do it they're perfectly sane, but subscribe to radical, violent politics.

I stand by that statement. We are exceptional in very many ways. You’re spooling that into a strawman. We agree on several points that we don’t think are exceptional.

No, they are called religious extremists because they do it from a religious angle.

There are various ways to define it. Presumably you would choose an intent element (such as the shooter intended, before the fact, to harm multiple people and was not trying to do anything else (i.e., Rob a bank, invade a home)). The problem with that is you have no clear criteria for when a shooting is a mass shooting, especially if the shooter is killed. By relying simply on injuries and death you can give meaning to the term n

You’re incredibly dense.
Those guys you call “terrorist” are absolutely wack jobs. Their beliefs are every bit as irrelevant when it comes to their actions. They’re unfit to exist in society regardless of their beliefs. There are plenty of people who believe the same things as the “terrorist “ but don’t go out and blow dmshit up or shoot people.
It’s sad that racist like you feel the need to bring skin color into this like pigmentation somehow makes a difference in people
