Trump is a pompous ass and a horrible person, but trying to lay this massacre at his feet is lazy and just plain dumb. Both sides play this game of pointing fingers and placing blame and it serves no purpose. We have gone beyond ridiculous.

It isn't fair to blame Trump for the actions of a gunman. It is fair to point out that Trump's rhetoric on Hispanic immigration in both his tweets and at his campaign rallies has been over the top and he has stoked anger and fear as a means of rallying his core base of support around a cause.

Wanting a secure border doesn’t stoke anger and fear. No one is scared. We are tired of illegals coming here and killing/raping our citizens. Illegals kill way more than this one radical lunatic did yet you libs are silent on that.

Trump does much more than simply make the case for a secure border. He uses over-heated rhetoric and stokes anger against a particular group of people with false information regarding the rate of crime they bring. Trump also conveniently ignores the fact that the source of the majority of illegal immigration in this country has absolutely nothing to do with a secure border. It has to do with visa overstays. He hasn't done anything to address that problem.

No he doesn’t, he points out facts that just don’t line up with what your liberal media tells you.

I’ve never seen you or any other liberal socialist here comment on the endless amounts of murder and rape committed by illegals

The argument could be made no one stokes fear and encourages more violence than your ever increasing radical party

The United States' Congressional Research Service acknowledges that there is not a broadly accepted definition of a "mass shooting". However, the general consensus is to use the FBI's definition of a "mass murder"; which is an event where someone shoots four or more people indiscriminately and kills them. It does not necessarily have to occur in a public place, but it usually does.

That is exactly what I mean by "over-heated rhetoric". That is not supported by crime statistics. You are echoing a Trump campaign applause line that has no basis in fact.

Here are the facts per the Anti-Defamation League (ADL.org):

Although, public figures (this means Trump) have claimed that immigrants are "killers" and "rapists", bringing crime to the U.S.. Study after study has shown, however, that immigrants - regardless of where they are from, what immigration status they hold, and how much education they have completed - are less likely than native-born citizens to commit crimes or to become incarcerated. According to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, while the overall percentage of immigrants and the number of undocumented immigrants in the U.S. both increased sharply between 1990 and 2010, the violent crime rate in the U.S. during that time plummeted 45 percent and the property crime rate dropped by 42 percent. Studies have consistently found that immigrants are less likely to be incarcerated than native-born Americans and that there is a NEGATIVE correlation between levels of immigration and crime rates (meaning the percentages go down with the increase in total numbers). The appropriate punishment for him would be to confine him to general population in a Texas state prison for the rest of his life. He would have a target on his back. It would be the same thing as a death sentence.

It has everything to do with the politicization of mass shootings and gun control.

Why aren’t the politicians addressing the gun violence in Chicago?

Is it because of race? Is it because there’s usually no “assault weapon” used?

Why are the victims of gun violence in Chicago largely ignored by the media?

I don't believe that they are. I see it discussed frequently on MSNBC, with pointed criticisms of the city's leadership (including Rahm Emanuel) often discussed. It certainly isn't ignored on Fox News.

Death is too good for him. I have no problem doing what needs to be done to keep him alive to keep enduring.
