Shouldn’t the special teams coach be getting criticized?

To clarify, it was not the return men who called for the fair catch. It was someone in the front.

To clarify you’re allowed to point at the ball as long as you’re not waiving your hand according to the rule. This has been done every game, and even this one but wasn’t called till a very critical moment in the game. This same player had been doing this prior in the same game. Here’s the rules on a “valid and non valid” fair catch per NCAA.

During the UTSA game he played a young man who obviously didn’t know the rules relating to a blocked punt.

In the Alabama, he played another one who didn’t know the fair catch rules and sent 2 returners out for a kickoff, one expecting to fair catch the ball (Williams) while the other was going to return it. It’s clear everyone wasn’t on the same page.

That was a big play in the game and was totally uncalled for, tacky call or not.
Yep. We lost that game because of special teams🤭🤭

If. you think the penalty was bogus, you do not understand the rule. I know it is seldom. in fact I have never seen it in my 80 years of watching playing football, but the call was legit. according to the rule. I also believe the refs were extremely bias on their calls, but that one did follow the rule.
i wonder how many refs look for that? i think none do.

This is the first time I have ever seen it And I have been around football for over 80 years. I do not know when this rule was passed. I think it should only apply to any player who in a position to field and advance the kick/punt.
