They'll lose at least one of the three road games against UCONN, Louisville, and Pitt.
Uconn is a scrappy bunch aren't they? I don't know that Pitt is going to be any good at all.....

Louisville...? i don't know...recent history tells us that they won't suck out loud, but i don't know that they are going to be feilding the type of team they have the past couple of years.

the big east schedule should be favorable for them regardless...they'll be the odds on favorite.

do they play UVA or Va TEch this year? those could be the only stumbling blocks for them...

They play neither. They're still not an undefeated quality team.

I would agree with that...but they do play in the big east, so that in and of itself is a factor...

at UConn, at Pitt and at Louisville....i'd like to say that at MSU would be a tough game, but we know better...

those are the three toughest game, just going on face value, but all three are winnable for 'em.

Either way, i don't see them going undefeated either btw, but i can understand why some would think so....

This link will be worth bookmarking and look back at in late September. I think we were ranked 2nd on this list last year

I think people might end up giving them too much credit for beating Georgia like they did... And no way MSU will be a tough game. The bottom of the SEC sucks. For some reason I just get the impression Louisville will win the Big East. They still have Brian Brohm, a good offense and defense. If they can stay healthy I just see them taking it while WVU drops towards the bottom of the Top 25.

UGA will have trouble in the secondary. Florida may have no running game. Cal and LSU will be huge tests. I think The UGA and UF games are very winable. I think we can match up against them very well. Especially UGA. With us having a solid secondary, and a good front four going up against a young QB, assuming Joe T loses the job to one fot he freshman, and young WR, I think we will be sending our LB's all day. Florida will be hurting up front too, plus no mention of a TB, once again, I think we send our LB's all day. I like ouor chances in those games better than Cal and LSU.

I think that your points about UF are right on. A weak running game means we have to pass and with an inexperienced O-line, a blitzing team can have a field day with Leak, who always seems to be running in mud.

Florida has issues.

I need to update that and add #22 alabama.

As far as Cal being rated #8, consider the source. Mandell has never impressed me with his predictions, especially in football. He's wrong as much as he is right.
You really think Bama is a loss? As bad as UT was last year Bama still needed the timely gift of a goal line fumble to win that Game and that was WITH Prothro and Croyle. Croyle is gone and Prothro may not see the the field this season.

Prothro did not play against Tennessee last year.

No I don't think UT loses to Bama, not with Bama having a true freshmen "athlete" under center. I was only listing the ranked teams on UT's schedule. The other teams I do think UT will struggle with/lose to.

I think you will be very suprised at how good our secondary will be this year. On the other hand you are right about attacking the qb. Our o-line is questionable and we have no clue who the QB will be. By the way. I love it when we are the underdog. So either way is fine with me.

The SEC is wide open, I think its whoever gets the breaks this year. You must admit, luck does play its part! good and bad, just as CPF.

I certainly agree that, in the last few years, it has really been hard to pick the best teams. Seems like someone always dissapoints and someone else always emerges unexpectedly. I just think that there is a lot of parity in the SEC lately. Home field advantage is huge. scheduling. Catching breaks. All of these things are definitely pretty important.

I'm just not sold on that homefield advantage right now.UT seems to play better on the road sometimes.
Last year at one UT game I was at, the crowd kept trying to get the "Wave" started like in past games. We never got it started because it would die out when it got around to the UT student section.Maybe too much partying.I don't know. :dunno:

If there's any sense of good taste at Neyland, the "Wave" is dead forever.

If they killed the "Wave," I have a newfound affinity for our students.

I've hated the "Wave" since its inception. It intimidates nobody and distracts from the game at hand.

Too much partying? Nah.

You say this was in the UT student section? Hmmmmm....

Probably just too complicated for them.

So,you're saying that the game we beat the Gators(NC Season) in (since we were both at the game),you didn't stand. If you didn't stand during the wave, you must have been in one out of 100 plus thousand not standing. You expect me to buy that?

Hey LG, who let you out of your hole.I'll bet you that admission standards at UT are higher than Florida?I really have no idea about Florida, but I know UT's are getting tougher.

the problem with the Wave is that in my experience, they would try and get it started while we were on offense...never made any sense to me....sit down so i can see!!!

it looks cool on tv...ok....but i do think it's kind of stupid.

For my money, i'll take people stomping, clapping, yelling like hell when we're on defense any day over a bunch of people just standing up and sitting down yelling Wooooooooooooooooo!!!

if history repeats its self as it sometimes does, and we went 11-1 this year we could go the Penn State way and get Fulmer national coach of the year, and a BCS bowl.

The money people are paying, I really could care less what they do.
