SI: Strong to stay at Louisville

We won't know for sure tomorrow morning, but if this has a shred of truth to it at all Hart better be busting his rear to Chapel Hill and finishing this horrendous search ASAP.

Just to pick up where we left off 2-3 years from now

Blessing in disguise, if true.

It might be smart to bring in a solid negotiator. Strong should have been locked up a week ago, without giving UL a chance to escalate a bidding war-- if we really wanted Strong and the interest was mutual. Clearly, UTAD needs tactical help, as evidenced by our continued mishaps over the past two searches.

And for all the people saying Petrino that would be the final straw for me. I can't support a team led by someone as unethical as that guy.

Channel 5 Sports here in Nashivlle just said "breaking...out of Lousiville it's being reported Charlie Strong has turned down the offer and is staying with Louisivlle'

Brilliant strategy by Bammer Dave to sit on his @ss from the time Dooley was fired until last week. Allegedly didn't even call Gruden until last Friday, which would've at least been an excuse for doing nothing.

Rucker said UL's counteroffer must have been absolutely ridiculous...which is what Skeeter said would've had to have happened for Strong to stay.

If we can't get Fedora you might as well keep Chaney and try it again next year.

If true, we were just saved from blowing our budget on a coach that hasn't really beaten anybody significant. Maybe he can; maybe he can't. Is that risk worth $4M+ a year plus a huge buyout if we're wrong? We'll know after the UF-UL bowl game. The "rejection" might feel like a bullet dodged then.

I'm really surprised he isn't coming. His stock will never again be this high. Once his team gets its teeth kicked in during the Sugar Bowl everyone will see he is not as high caliber as some ....on this board have thought. Glad he got his money from Louisville and not us, well played sir.

I am more than fine with Fedora. I wanted Fedora to begin with a week ago. But if this gets past Fedora Dave Hart should be fired immediately.

Gruden was always a pipe dream. Now, we've had two legitimate coaches shoot us down. Any one that accepts the job has a chip on there shoulder from being middle of the page and not even red headed stepchild billing. I am of the firm opinion we have an AD problem. At this point in the life of our football program you figure out whom you need to be the head football coach and get them!! And yes, it really is that simple.

Let's swallow our sanctimonious "integrity" and reach out to Jim Tressel. Say what you will about the Big 10, but he is a PROVEN winner. Not just a guy that has won a few games and made it to one BCS bowl, but a coach who has proved that year in and year out he can field a good to great team and has won a national championship. Anybody else out there that can say that?

Four-year show cause. No big deal right?
