Since I'm reading there is no East vs West in the SEC next year

Should always be like this in every conference. hopefully we stop playing Bama every year
I’m in agreement with this. We need to drop them either them or Georgia I’m tired of looking at the schedule and marking an automatic loss every season with those guys.

Check out GA schedule next year. They are gonna have to earn it in 2024 as far as the regular season is concerned
You are right! No way they get through all that without a loss. SEC to become the meatgrinder of college football. I don't know how any SEC team will stay healthy enough to win a national championship any longer. with schedules like that.

It may come as a shock to TX as they are used to running the leagues they play in.
Yea and I’m willing to bet Texas will stand up and raise a ruckus about it. I don’t see them to be the ones to cower down in the fetal position to Sankey and Bama like so many others. Texas will try to sabotage and run the SEC probaly they got more money than anyone and a huge ego to boot. There is def going to be some drama when they come in next year. Texas could actually just go independent like Notre Dame and probaly be as well off as in a conference they are that big of an entity program wise.

Texas got the easiest SEC schedule next year...Oklahoma got a rough one...It's gonna be interesting to see how those guys adjust to SEC play.

Realistically, a 7-1 SEC record will get you into the championship imo, just like before. SEC wins are going to be dang hard to come by. Vols luckily get to keep Vandy on the schedule every year. The other teams won’t have that luxury.
Auburn and FL getting tough pulls.

Be funny if Alabama slit their throats because of greed.

Two best records. ACC did the same thing this year. Tiebreaker scenario is going to be interesting. We will eventually get a year with 3-4 teams with the same record and get chaos. We had one year with a 3-way tie in SEC East and they used AP ranking as tie breaker.

I can't see the Big 10 moving to this model, unless they move away from the annual Ohio vs Michigan matchup being the last game of the regular season.

I wish they’d go to 4x 4 team pods, but I guess going to 18 teams blows it up and going to 20 probably means realignment. Maybe if they get to 24 then 4x 6 team divisions will be the ultimate configuration.

At 16 teams, I think they had to... and yes it opens the door to Michigan vs. Ohio State in back-to-back weeks...

Honestly, they need to rename the conference to something more modern for the times. It's a whole new world moving forward.

Sounds maybe a little sacrilege to say, but it might not be the worst thing to have a 7-1 record and miss out on the SEC title game . Might be easier to secure an at large bid in the CFP .

Last season, Tennessee would have held the tiebreaker over LSU and Alabama for second in the conference, but LSU faced Georgia in the title game as the top team in the West division.

TN would have been in Atlanta last year under the new rules.

Hope it is that way for at least 20 years as an offset to being in the east with Bama every year.

Anybody but us and AU have to deal with them and GA every year?
