While i have come to understand your side of the arguement, I Still dont think that is what is meant by the post that started all this in the frist place. While that might aggrevate you, I guess we will just have to disagree. What I do know is this. Passion aside, gambling 10 mil is a giant task to ask any AD at any school. And lets not be mistaken, that's what this is. Its gambling.

I watched this fan base turn on Fulmer, burn furniture for Kiffin, and wear bags for Dooley, and I'm left with the notion that if you get what you're hoping for, eventually, you'll have a similar reaction to "whoever takes it". That being said, can you live with the 10 mil debt on top of a few above .500 seasons until the ship gets turned around? Or will you remind everyone after every loss, because there will be losses, that "we are paying wayyyyy too much for these results" ?

A tracking device for those who claim $ is no object to them would be pretty interesting to see after the cards are finally laid on the table.

I wish you luck. I hope they get the right guy. The stage is set for the next act in this play, but that script is going to be tough to work through.

As for my suggestions, well, they were not well recieved around here so I'll just leave it at that. If Gruden is your guy, I hope you get your wish. I'm not against it, but I am against these candidates becoming demi-Gods and holding schools hostage.

Where did you watch these things from? If you don't live in Knoxville or attend UT games you really have no idea. The "fan base" didn't turn on Fulmer. Truth is Fulmer is still very well respected around Knoxville. Fulmer had gotten lazy and it was time for a change. So what it happens every where not just UT. You saw the fan base burn furniture for Kiffin? No you didn't because that didn't happen. What actually happened was a large group of students gathered and burned one mattress while singing Rocky Top and chanting "it's great to be a Tennessee Vol". If Sumlin left next week would some students be pissed? Damn straights they would. What game did you attend and see Vol fans with bags on their head? I never saw a Vol fan with a bag but maybe it happened. Avatars to count you know. To say the fan base wore bags for Dooley is ridiculous at best. Your sitting behind a keyboard and pretending to know what's really going on. Vol fans are an easy target right now but the made up BS is getting really old. It's more like Bob Stoops/ Nick Saban kind of money. Just a hair north of $5mill. Not as big of a stretch as many are making it out to be.

Let's keep it in perspective. Belichick is making roughly $7mill with the Patriots, and the average NFL coaching salary is $2.75mill/yr. You didn't honestly think anyone (NFL or college) would offer more than the winningest NFL coach is making, did you?...well maybe you did. Bad assumption.

Who dismissed him as a troll? Just like anyone else that posts things that aren't true he should be called on it. That doesn't make him a troll. Maybe he'll think next time before calling Vol fans on the carpet for things he perceives to be true that really aren't.

So let me get this straight: my literary devices and way of putting it all as nicely as possible since I too, am a fan, was not picked a part in similar fashion as a message board spell checker? That's the validity of your disdain for what I said? That's where I'm crossing some sort of Internet line with you and your ilk? That's the stance you'd like to take up regarding what I said?

Cool. Would you now like for me to inform you of some truths that are far less sugar coated in order to earn my perceived view of a program I have been a fan of for nearly two decades? Should I start pointing out some things in a "troll" manner to appease you and others? If you'd like for me to, I'd gladly give you some hard truths. Oh, I know, I know, I didn't go to school there, don't live in K-Town blah blah. I couldn't possibly have a clear perspective of what's up on the hill right?

Some others are just begging for some comparisons, some commentary about your program and the one in College Station. You'd love some back and forth and I've been baited ever since 2011 on the issue. You would like some truths but, you don't want to read em from someone that does not have a "Vol" in their username. You want some insight as long as it fits your logic. I have nothing against you and I never called you a troll. I do not want any as you say back and forth since it would be a complete waste of time and this will be my last reply to you. I took issue to a certain paragraph in your post which I think was an untrue representation of our fan base and certain events. Frankly at this point it just feels like piling on or maybe even deceptively gloating. It doesn't matter to me where you went to school or where you live the only reason I mentioned it was because you said you have seen certain events from this fanbase. What you did was read about certain events either on a message board or in a sensationalized news story and all three examples you presented were untruths. I don't know you from Adam so trying to convince me you have been a Vol fan for nearly two decades is a mute point especially since I never called you a troll or even insinuated it. That said you did throw me off by saying "your passionate fan base" and "I wish you luck".

In regards to the rest of your op I actually somewhat agree with you. I apologize for not lavishing you with the praise you feel you so deserved.

you get all upset and defensive and your feelings are hurt, people come to defend you but id still like a link to your thread on the Texas Rangers forums warning about the gamble that is Josh Hamilton. its different when its your team.

if a Yankees fan posted on a Rangers board warning the fans how dangerous it would be to resign him, how would people there react to him?

ive no doubt that you have contributed quality discussion to volnation over the years but this thread seems like trolling
