Sleeper of the class

Some reason I'm starting to buy into the Nash sleeper choice, that is if he can correct his arm strength issues.

I also think that LB from Alabama could be a sleeper on the defensive side.
Arm strength smarm-strength. They said the same thing about Peyton Manning.

Everyone forgets the day Manning ran onto the field at UCLA at about 6'5" 200 pounds with his arms real high to his sides; He wasn't considered a "rocket armed" QB. The NFL draft "experts" considered Ryan Leaf a better prospect because of arm strength. We all know the history on that one. Tyler Bray will be the BMOC and Nash will get a good opportunity to play after he redshirts this year. The future looks bright IMO. It will be an easier job now that we have returned to being WR-U.

Nance - If he stays focused, he could have a golden opportunity here. We have no established QB and Stevens will graduate after this year. If not the starter, then a solid backup.

Fugate - I just think is a football player from what I have heard. If he puts in the work, he should do quite well.

Peyton won every award in college exept the one I wouldn't consider him a risk when he was drafted. Leaf had one of the strongest arms ever and that impressed Kiper. We will never see another Peyton. I think Bray can be very good . Imagine Peyton with these WR and backs.

This is too easy. The answer is Eddrick Loften. There is no second choice. Mark it down. GBO!

This thread really has me confused. How are names like loften, milton, or meline considered sleepers? Not to mention the fact that miller and smith have been mentioned....wtf? I
Hereby request that anyone who suggests a top 200 player in the "sleeper" thread explain what they consider the term sleeper means.

This class is full of players with good upside potential (sleepers). Dooley did a phenomenal job of hanging onto recruits and adding to those. He rounded out an excellent offensive class across the board including an outstanding group of OLs & WRs and filled in the holes in the back seven on D about as well as could have been done under the circumstances. Only key need area that really did come up short was DT. The late defections hurt. If there's room, maybe CDD can still find one or two DTs. Overall a VERY good class!

You know, I just thought about this right before I saw your post. You may be right. Bray could be a sleeper. Look who recruited him earlier on. He committed to San Diego State before signing with Tennessee. He had a great Elite 8 competition and a few other camps.

Many people believe he is a guy to watch because he has such a large upside. I hope so. :good!:

I remember watching the ESPN show that followed the Elite 11 camps.
One of the counselors siad that he saw Bray as a "ten year back up in the NFL at worst."
That may not be verbatim but he did say 10 year pro.
Hopefully that means he"ll perform like a forst rounder while on Rocky Top.

We need 6 or 8 sleepers

Nash Nance is to Chaney as Drew Brees was to Chaney. Smart, underrated, STRONG arm (bad mechanics), able to run, great size, instant connection b/w him and Rogers

Channing Fugate is going to be used like Jacob Hester was at LSU. Diifference is Channing is taller and faster, making more of a threat to catch the ball from fb pos.

Sapp could be really good. Wilcox does REALLY well in coaching man defenses when needed. If he hits the weights, 6'3'' Sapp could be very helpful defending some of the AJ Green/Julio Jones/Hernandez (FL) types

Crump; dude is a wicked athlete. Did he go to camps last summer? I know he's an eagle scout and probably had other stuff he was doing, that might have kept him from getting more exposure

Bray is sleeper for the nation, not our class, for our class, I will say Fulton is sleeper...

I'm gonna go with Crump.

I think Chaney will have an embarrassment of riches on that side of the ball in 2011-12.

I gotta say Crump, because that side of the ball will need a lot of help, so Crump needs to be one of many overachievers on defense.

This Wilcox character needs to be very creative in 2010.

I'm goin with Crump, he's an athletic middle linebacker that ran 100m hurdles in track in HS, with those sets of skills he should be able to contribute good on special teams if not on defense
