So against a seasoned OK D, how many rushing yards for UT?

Misleading stat due to them closing out their opponents early. This will be one of the best D lines we play. Sadly we'll play damn near every good one.

And putting Peterman in against USU was what? We had double digit wins over both teams we played. Utah State and Arkansas State were both top programs in their respective conferences. We didn't play "cupcakes" like the majority of SEC schools and Oklahoma. We played quality opponents and earned our players quality experience. There's too much being put into the Sooners' defense for me to buy into based on their performance against near-FCS opponents...

When we go into conference play, Team 118 will have faced much better competition and will be battle hardened.

I see a lot of quick passes coming this game. More use of screens than we did against ASU. Similar to USU game. Worley may throw it 40 times but a lot will be short quick throws. Takes pressure off of the oline and running game

We agree on the last point. I agree our D is pretty good too. We'll see how our offense does against OK d.

Driskel has ran the ball well so far this year. Seven yards is pretty impressive.

He also ran for a 177 yards in one game and broke Tebow's record. The team that he gained all those yards against beat UT in the same season.

I'm sure they didn't want Jeff breaking his leg again this season against another cupcake team... :eek:lol:

All joking aside I did noticed that they had Jeff slide before contact.

I think a piece of our rushing puzzle was only slightly shown last week in Devrin Young. His first carry got him 10 yards from LOS. Why Bajakian decided to run the exact same play, I can't answer. But I'd be willing to wager that there will be some surprises coming out of the Vols' backfield come Saturday.

I'll be interested to see how Florida does against Kentucky this week. Hope Driskel does well and doesn't get injured. We all know how TN performs against backup QBs.

Yep... FL's back up QB is 2/2 , 148 yards and 2 TDs this season.... He's a freshman... :)

Didn't Dooley beat Butch????

He did. It was also Jones' second year as HC at Cincinatti where he went on to lead his team to a 10-3 record to be conference co-champs. He also had a bowl win over highly lauded James Franklin and beat #24 Pittsburgh.

I'm not worried about Jones' coaching. His track record speaks for itself. If anything, I'm excited about this year. He seems to have a knack for turning around programs in his 2nd year as HC.

Muschamp on the other hand...

If OU has a weakness on defense, it's pass coverage across the middle. I like the zone read pass play we ran in the previous games. Most of those went out to flat to some fairly wide-open receivers. If we run that same look and go across the middle behind the linebackers with any success, we can back them off the line and open up the run game a bit. OU's DL will be pretty tough even on their own, but I think Lane and Hurd can break some long ones.

I agree, Hurd is dangerous coming out of the backfield down the middle behind the LB's on a medium distance pass play. We saw it twice in scrimmage but not in a game, I think we have been saving that one.

Totally agree. The way to beat OU is with the TE, and with slot receiver on a slant, with very quick throws.
