So against a seasoned OK D, how many rushing yards for UT?

You're onto us op. The plan is what you think it is. Get up two and preferably three scores quick while stuffing your run game and forcing you to go one dimensional passing attack to catch up so we can sick the blitz on Worley.

If you can stop that from happening then it should still be a game in the third quarter.

if IF Worley runs for 40 to 50 yards, it will open up a lot of holes for the running backs, for the read option to work,Worley needs to break a few run plays and yes,i know he isn't a dual threat quarterback, but a few yards on the ground would be great for the Vols

if he does it,maybe the Vols will get 200 yards from the running backs, which will make it a close game into the 4th quarter and hope for the best from there

Once you get down by three touchdowns, running the football goes out the window. UT will spend much of the day throwing the ball, trying to play catch up.

You might need to remember that it is a new season in some of your other posts.

It probably wouldn't be wise for Worley to run much during this game. He will most likely get shaken up or injured. I bet When Trevor Knight takes off and runs he will slide before getting nailed. Both teams will be "laying the wood."

I agree, you only want him running minimum times.

Call me a realist (or I guess that equates to being a NegaVol), but I think we're still a year or two removed from winning these games.

The intangibles are vastly improved over previous years. Jones has done a great job in this area. The tangibles, ie winning, will still take a bit more time to get the horses we need.

I love my Vols. Start every week the same in games like this. I think on Monday that we will get trounced, but by kick-off, my confidence is sky high!!

Rushing yards.....65

Hell, no, I need my QB to know that if they give him a lane, he better pull it down and go or we'll put in somebody who will give us that dimension. Worley knows this.

Didn't Dooley beat Butch????

Its clear by your posts that you believe all rosters are the same, or that they have little impact on the game. Dooley beating Butch happened for the same reason that Champ has won any games at all: far superior talent.

Other than roster strength, Dooley and Champ are similar coaches.
