This.
The thread is in extremely poor taste especially considering some of these kids come on this board.
I would love to see where you're coming up with those numbers. FSU, Bama, Clemson, UGA, UF, etc, etc, etc all have offers out that are non committable offers. I think in the past during the Kiffin years we led the nation in early offers in recruiting but I haven't seen anything on the actual numbers since those days.Of course. That would explain why UT "offers" more kids than any other school in the country. I have been quick to learn that a UT "offer" does not mean a whole lot. If the coaches are not actively visiting/spending time/speaking with the player he is probably not a priority at all. I have no issue at all with early offers. It does at least open the door.
Yes, but there's no point in speculating on who that will be. Nothing makes a recruit feel welcome like going to the fan site of the team you're committed to and seeing them questioning whether you'll be the one asked to look around to make room for someone else.I've never understood why this type of thread angers people so much. This time last year of we'd said that Mouhon,Thomas, Lee, Powell, Brown Jr., etc would be asked to look around people would have gotten just as upset.
Our staff has shown tht they prefer to stock up on commits as early as possible and let the number work themselves out along the way instead of holding off and tryig to fill up a class at the end of recruiting season. It's a smart strategy. Unfortunately, that means we'll always have plenty of commits who decide/are advised to look elsewhere.
Some people get upset when you point this out, but it's not like they're leaving these kids high and dry on signing day or anything.

I think the majority of us would love to sit around and speculate who will and who won't be apart of this recruiting class and what current players will or will not be on the roster next year. However, recruits, players, and family members look at this board. So it's kind of d!ckish.

Here is my question and I might get roasted for this but if we have to drop someone to make room who is it. I'll be honest I hate offering a scholarship to a long snapper. Can't we find someone on the team to just focus on that. And with our kicking situation since medley has locked up kicking duties why can't we move bullock to punter. I know they are a lot different but he could do it. So who else would we drop if we have to.
You caught me and really burned me, you are so good. The purpose of the Recruiting Forum: Football Talk thread is to keep the threads at a minimum in the Recruiting forum unlike the Football Forum. If you don't like it please stay over there and clutter it up. This is the last I will post in this thread about this.
Also, when you begin a sentence, you capitalize the first letter and when you see a red squiggly line under a word you have typed that means it is misspelled ("haveing is actually spelled having). If you right click on the word it will give you options for the correct spelling of the word you are trying to spell. :good!:
I think Butch might have just a little bit more data to work with than we do. He knows what he's doing. He's not taking 35 commits and then just cull 10 of them on NSD. Also, we don't know what he's told some of the commits. He may have told some that their offer is contingent on how things play out with the class. For instance he may have told Dormady that his offer was contingent on Gibson. If Gibson wanted in, he was out. (That last part was exclusively for Butchna)
