Don't be a clown. The adjustment didn't happen. Our offense still did it's stand around and watch silliness. Offensive boards saved our asses.

Yep I agree. We went into Vanderbilt, with a bad team, bad coaching, and got lucky. Sorry for being a clown.

True . . . but they definitely made a concerted effort to penetrate in the 2nd half. Goins was a lot better in the 2nd half.

Because it takes a genius to figure out that crap wasnt working

LOL...it only took that genius 30 mins to figure it out. I still think Pearl should go but will enjoy the win and hope for the best tomm.

Coached? If so, Cam and Hopson don't take those two near airballs from 3 under 5 min. I think it was by default because we couldn't make anything.

Horrible offensive scheme. I appreciated the substitution strategy. Play who you can afford to play early on; wear down Vandy and let the starting 5 finish them off.

As stated before, one game doesn't make or break people's opinions. Despite the horrible reffing, handicapped coaching staff, and playing away - these players persevered and secured a tournament bid. Props to them, they have heart - Go Vols!

The high ball screen at the key was a big switch for UT and I wish they'd do it more often. That was a coaching move. D was ridiculous. That's coaching and effort. BP wins another one on the road when he is "overmatched" at the coaching position and has less talent on the court. I can see why people want him gone.

When did I say we have a bad team? We have a very good team when we stop the dumbass lineup silliness and recognize that our offense kills us and we scrap it.

TOUGH!

So many of us have been critical of this team, and we hoped for more. But when they can, and allowed by the officials, they are just plain tough. Not flashy. Not going to put up points like the Lofton-Smith-Smith-Prine-Wheezy teams. But you don't want to go into a "knife fight in a phone booth" battle with them. They will still struggle for the balance of the $EC. But get them in the NCAA's and they have a chance. Not pretty. Just tough. Drive me and most of you crazy - but they are our team! GBO!

one game is nice to win but doesn't dispell all the faults in a team...hopefully the VOLs can play their best ball now and show they can win 3-4 in a row

Less talent? Who said that?

Coaching was not the difference. Having to scrap the looney plan, on both ends, made the difference.

I thought he got out of the flex and went to the screen at the key for Hop and Goins. It worked and opened up lanes. That's what coaching is. It's finding ways to win and changing up when you need to. I thought BP coached a good game tonight, except for the bad lineup when we got down 11.

If we would have driven to the rim for the entire game, instead of settling for contested deep shots, this game might not have even been close. Glad to see we figured it out before it was too late.

Great win. Screw Vandy.

I am of the opinion he put in most of the scout team to piss off our starters. When I saw that lineup I was thinking "Pearl must be trying to light a fire under some asses"

It certainly worked. Brilliant if it was intentional.

We set very few high screens. We made a concerted effort toward the rack, but let's not pretend that was some genius coaching move. It was obvious and our only prayer to score.

I did. Tinsley has played better than goins this year in regards to scoring and assists. Hop and jenkins are even. Taylor better at the 3. We are better at the 4. Ezeli better at the 5. Their bench has better talent than maymon, hall, golden and pearl. All that equals less talent.

Better doesn't make the matchups in their favor. Tinsley poses no threat to score and Jenkins and Hopson arenot even in what they do to defenses, on either end. Candy has exactly one player on the bench.

Don't mistake our inability to get anything from the guys we have for a lack of talent. Vandy's lack of athleticism is glaring.
