i can't even sit at a game and make a comment without being told to shut up and watch the game. that gets really old especially when we start losing it makes it even worse and maddening.

Try watching the game in the other room so your wife can't hear you.

GO Vols! The game isn't played on paper. If our team plays out NEYLANDS MAXIMS then provided Oklahoma isn't at their peak we can shock the world.

So called fans that care more about bragging rights and being able to puff their chests out than the development of the their team create a vacuum.

They're like the parents of Little Leaguers that get arrested for assault on an umpire.

as the last 4 years,we win the first 2 lose the next one, when is it going to end, i am tired of losing to so called better teams, i say we can beat ou but thousands say otherwise and then reality sets in that we are going to lose midway thru the 3rd quarter. if virginia tech with no qb can beat ohio state why can't we beat oklahoma, oh i know it's the same excuses and crap that it has been the last decade we have talent but it's young, we don't play well on the road, our coaching is weak, they are saving the playbook for the SEC blah blah blah, JUST WIN THE GAME, that is all! Yeah i know it's all a big circle but we have got to start beating the bigger teams soon, at least fulmer could occasionally pull this off. this is getting so old and tiring. so are my posts i know but oh well. I hate losing and am absolutely sick and tired it and the bull crap excuses that go with it. GO VOLS!! :realmad:

So silly.

So what are you going to do about it? Nobody gives a rats azz if you are "absolutely sick and tired". What do you want? Fire the coaching staff again?????? Shoot all the opposing players??????? Give our players some maturity and experience pills?????? Nah, just yell, scream and jump in the looney bin an everything will be alright.

Between son & daughter I coached or helped T-ball 5yrs, baseball 2 yrs, softball 1 yr, fast pitch 2 yrs, soccer, football, church league bball.

An angry parent who knows their kid deserves: more playing time; should NOT be in, they've got a booboo; their kid gets 4 strikes, just this time; are right with the Lord, had a vision an know you're the devil and shouldn't be coaching, ...

Are all an amazing thing to behold in God's creation.

Glad you are passionate about the vols. It's safe to say we all are. But be reasonable. OU is a top five team who's returning a lot of players who can say they destroyed Bama in a bowl game, a team we haven't beaten in 10 years. No player on our current roster can say they have even BEEN to a bowl game! This weekend will be a huge test for a young team and the coaches alike. If we compete and keep the game close, then at the end of the day we will know our players and coaches can hang with the best in the country. And who knows, we may just pull off the upset. But that's is really the point, isn't it? We are the UNDERDOG. We are an unranked team playing a top 5 school on the road. Of course most people think we are going to lose. Keep your chin up OP and don't hesitate to take a few minutes to proof read your post before you hit submit...GBO!

OP - Not a big fan of this thread.

But I love your avatar. That is a great picture. TN QB flying through the air to score a TD against BAMA at Bama.

We will get back - despite what is likely to happen the next two weeks.

You are not the only one to feel this way. Patience is a very difficult skill to acquire. Just sit back, relax, and know we will be back. Maybe not this year but it's coming! Who knows what will happen...that's why they play the game. You just go ahead and be a great fan of the Volunteers and don't worry what anyone says.
Every Vol fan on this site wants us to get back to the glory days! :number1::weird:

GO VOLS!

go ahead tell me to shut up cause i just want us to win. i can't help it i want us to win even when everyone says we are going to lose. and i can't help that it infuriates me and makes me mad when we lose. so i have a condition.

Therein lies your problem. All of us want to win as well. But, a lot of us are realists and realize at the time being we are not the same Tennessee of old. One day, we'll be back there, but patience is the key. Anything can happen in college football. Most of the teams on our schedule are just better. If we played all our games perfectly and so did our opponents we'd still probably go 6-6. Just the state the program is in right now.

I totally agree with Op. Yet all I've read in here all week is how we're 3 years away ect. There was even a poll posted earlier and only 25% think we have a chance to win. I just don't get it. But everyone on Volnation listening to the talking heads saying we don't have a chance won't effect the outcome (those same idiots were saying we wouldn't beat Utah state). I guess it'll continue until we break through and win a few big games. Might as well start Saturday

The reason 75% of us think we will lose is because we post with what we realisticly think will happen, not what we want to happen. I want us to win just as much as you do, but I don't actually believe in my heart that it will happen. I thought we would beat Utah St. and Arkansas St., but I'd be lying if I told you I believe we will beat Oklahoma in Norman. If you HAD to bet your house on who will win, would you honestly bet on the Vols? I learned a long time ago to never bet on UT football. The main reason I don't believe we win Saturday is because of our offensive line vs OU's defensive line. Their strengths play directly against our weakness in this matchup. I also believe we are a lot closer to winning some big games than 3 years from now. If we have a solid QB, a competent replacement for AJ, and this team continues to improve like it has this year from a SEC talent perspective, then I believe we will be highly competitive next season in the SEC and will return to being consistently ranked in the top 25. I'm not a negavol, as I'm going to enjoy the ride with this young team and look forward to the brighter days that I believe are coming in the near future. In the meantime, I'm going to endure the likely bumps in the road as our team continues its rise to the top, and will continue to support the team in good times, and bad times.

Good post. We all want UT to win and no prediction on VN is a self-fulfilling prophecy.:good!:

Agreed 100%...If this team had a better O-line I honestly think it could keep Saturdays game relatively competitive...But I foresee Worley picking himself up off the ground a lot, something I really hope doesn't cause him to regress as he has played rock solid ball so far this season

I'm really worried about Worley being injured Saturday. If that happens things may head south at light speed this season.

I agree with this. OU is a pretty low ranked game to me to have to win since it's not like we have anything to prove to them (They're one of the TWO good teams in a conference that is called "Big 12" but only has 10 teams.).

However, beating them without losing AJ or Worley or another member of Patton's 4th Receiver Corps would be nice. Losing in the same situation works too.

Good, i never liked Kelsey anyway.

the comments i make are positive at times too and i still get told to shut up. so whatever. or i might say what i think we will run or do and still get told to shut up.

Sounds like you need to slap who you're sitting with. Try it next time they tell you to shut up, then let us know what happened afterward.

I think most of us are realistic enough to consider 6-6 with no Oregon/Alabama/Auburn total blowouts to be a clear sign of massive improvement, and a successful 2nd season for Jones and Co. If somehow we pull an upset and go 7-5, then maybe everyone (myself included) will then have some faith that Bajakian is on his way to having the personnel in place to show everyone that he is an truly SEC offensive coordinator.
