So it's the same old story

I'm really worried about Worley being injured Saturday. If that happens things may head south at light speed this season.

Me too. ASU, put pressure on him several times, and OU is going to bring everything they've got on him to try and prove Stoop's message that the SEC is not dominate. The question is, if the game gets out of hand say, something like 27-3 before the half. Does Jones even put Worley in the second half, or do you go ahead and accept the loss and not take a chance of getting him hurt and give Peterman/Dobbs some game time?

as the last 4 years,we win the first 2 lose the next one, when is it going to end, i am tired of losing to so called better teams, i say we can beat ou but thousands say otherwise and then reality sets in that we are going to lose midway thru the 3rd quarter. if virginia tech with no qb can beat ohio state why can't we beat oklahoma, oh i know it's the same excuses and crap that it has been the last decade we have talent but it's young, we don't play well on the road, our coaching is weak, they are saving the playbook for the SEC blah blah blah, JUST WIN THE GAME, that is all! Yeah i know it's all a big circle but we have got to start beating the bigger teams soon, at least fulmer could occasionally pull this off. this is getting so old and tiring. so are my posts i know but oh well. I hate losing and am absolutely sick and tired it and the bull crap excuses that go with it. GO VOLS!! :realmad:

You need to calm down my man. It's a young team and young teams don't usually win games like this. I'm just as tired of losing as the next guy but reality is that Saturday isn't going to be pretty. Maybe we can pull off an upset, stranger things have happened but it's unlikely, so don't throw yourself off a bridge if we lose.

I wouldn't worry about Govols. He's been here since 08. Tuff stretch.

Heck...after surviving that I think some of us would make it thru a nuclear winter.

Oh I definitely snapped last year, I was totally over the conference ra ra BS. Got old real fast pulling for our rivals, decides I wanted everyone who wasn't UT to lose and it felt good watching the barn and Bama lose last year in the post season. That being said my attitude towards ut is still tempered expectations.

The reason 75% of us think we will lose is because we post with what we realisticly think will happen, not what we want to happen. I want us to win just as much as you do, but I don't actually believe in my heart that it will happen. I thought we would beat Utah St. and Arkansas St., but I'd be lying if I told you I believe we will beat Oklahoma in Norman. If you HAD to bet your house on who will win, would you honestly bet on the Vols? I learned a long time ago to never bet on UT football. The main reason I don't believe we win Saturday is because of our offensive line vs OU's defensive line. Their strengths play directly against our weakness in this matchup. I also believe we are a lot closer to winning some big games than 3 years from now. If we have a solid QB, a competent replacement for AJ, and this team continues to improve like it has this year from a SEC talent perspective, then I believe we will be highly competitive next season in the SEC and will return to being consistently ranked in the top 25. I'm not a negavol, as I'm going to enjoy the ride with this young team and look forward to the brighter days that I believe are coming in the near future. In the meantime, I'm going to endure the likely bumps in the road as our team continues its rise to the top, and will continue to support the team in good times, and bad times.

I see some of your points and maybe you're not one of the negavols. And let's just for argument sake disregard the poll. Even so the reality is that many of our fans are predicting a 6-6 season... And are totally Ok with it. Listen we have more pieces in place than we've had in a long time. At some point we are going to start winning some of these games. I guess at that point people will finally come back with some reasonable expectation level (6-6 isn't reasonable). As far as betting my house on the outcome of the game...I understand it's just a saying but I wouldn't bet my house on anything. I think there is a realistic chance for us to beat them. I don't know what the odds are (probably less than 50%), but it's football. Anything can happen. And it's sad that so many of our fans give us no realistic chance to win at all.

I wonder how OP felt when he woke up yesterday morning.

Not sure which is more fun to read, chirpy drunk posting or angry drunk posting.

Thanks VonoreVol - I've share the many pieces that your post captures, but you've put it together better than I could. I've tried to limit myself this season to enjoying it...watching a lot of freshman and newcomers grow. I've been pleasantly surprised by the defense and that is refreshing. Hope it continues this weekend win or lose.
