I have a question.

If Ford was to uproot and move its operations down to Mississippi, Texas, or somewhere in the south, would they still have to honor the Unions?

I know when GM opened the Saturn plant in Spring Hill, TN. They were obligated by contract to offer the jobs to other laid off GM workers. I have a friend who was one of the first employed there. He had been laid off nearly a year, when they called and asked if he wanted to relocate to Tennessee.

the only way they could get out of the union contracts is if the company goes totally bust.....new ownership can do whatever they want with using or not using union labor

Bailing the big automakers out would be like giving CPR to a man while he is being strangled by another.

Yeah, but is the Spring Hill plant unionized?

let's just give F and GM to the UAW outright. let them run them and see if they can afford to pay people who don't work 60K a year.

not a bad idea, the management should just up themselves and move down south and start all over and let the UAW try and compete with what they've got.

that won't matter once Chairman MaObama and his cohorts in Congress pass the employee free choice act.

Tax increases, increased unionization, and a strangling of energy production. The Obamassiah is going to single-handedly destroy the American economy.

then there will be some very large and very empty plants around the south...they will pull out in a heart beat and none of the Messiah's "negotiations" will make one bit of difference
