The same place that I draw it from right now: my abilities. I certainly would not have had any hope in a God that I had spent my lifetime faithfully serving who repaid that faith by taking away loved ones simply to test that faith in order to win a bet.
Or, do you think that atheists simply off themselves when times get tough?
My bad. It sounded like you were going through a rough time.
Yes, but I have limits. I've experienced challenges beyond my own abilities and come through in ways I could only attribute to outside help.
Yes and no, it is with my boy. He is only 6 but asking amazing spititual/biblical questions.
As for the norm, my personal beliefs are radical. Trut and I agree a lot, I think our biggest difference is Luke.
I guess my own struggles and what I should say present to him only being 6.
Gotcha. I'm in the same boat. I don't have kids yet, but I have though about how I would raise my child; let alone mesh my ideas of religion and child rearing with my future wifey.
I can deal with my own views or the views of my spouse, but bringing those views upon my child is a whole different matter. I'm torn on the subject personally and don't feel I will ever have a satisfactory answer. I guess it's one of those things you play by ear with your spouse.
He asked about Sauls conversion, it was a Sunday school lesson, and I was about to go on a rant but he would have no idea what I was talking about.
So I asked him what he thouggt, he was caught up in the blindness portion.
This is going to be silly, but we are huge fans of Jeremy Wades River Monsters. I always tell him the horror stories/legends are rooted in truth wuth human flare.
So we talked about what could have caused the blindness. When he gets older Ill rant about Saul being a fraud.

Lol. That's an interesting and funny tie-in. I hope I'm that creative as a father.
Great show, I love how, much time he spends on background and culture of where he will be fishing.
When he was in the secluded pacific was amazing.
Definitely great television, those sorts of legends are ever present in japanese culture. Makes miyazaki movies that much better, because they are so rooted in regional lore.
Also, hate to admit it but I like it when that show delves into the macabre, like those amazonian worms with circular teeth
