So what recruits do we lose now?

I'm almost positive that Boyd is gone. In the paper the other day, they interviewed him and they asked what he thought on the chance Fulmer would be fire and he said something like

I'm not worried about it, both coach Fulmer and Mike Hamilton have assured me it won't happen. So I think he's as good as gone.

If this is true, it might be the shortest commitment to a school ever before backing out. :cray:

actually he said:

"I know people are talking about that, but when I spoke with Coach Fulmer and their athletic director (Mike Hamilton), they told me they didn't think anything was going to happen," Boyd said. "Plus, I have to like the school in general. And I love the school.

"I got to talk with Coach Fulmer and the other coaches, and I like them a lot. It's a chance to play in the SEC, and that's a great opportunity."

no way this is a spur of the moment thing by Hamilton and CPF.

Stokes and Giles are more than likely gone.

If any coaches are retained, the damage will be limited.

Leach is a RB's worst nightmare.

I don't want to see his gimmick pass happy offense on display at Neyland.

You must have missed the Texas game. They ran and passed all over Texas and Muschamp. I'll take that kind of gimmicky offense any day.

the only think we can do is sit back and watch on who says or who goes... i say we lose 3 to 5 but end up with some good ones at the end

Absolutely NOT! Retaining ANY of these coaches WOULD damage the program.

Not exactly. I can't justify keeping many of them, but we almost absolutely have to keep Chavis. He's one of the better DC's in the country, along with being one of the top LB coaches.

Also, Maybe we could give Clawson another year. He doesn't have the personnel he needs right now, only has 50% of his playbook in, and is a hell of a recruiter.

Right now, who cares?? The incoming coach needs to be able to implement their system and get the players needed. Let's see where it goes because we don't even know who our coach is gonna be.

Is there any chance in the world that Tajh knew this was coming? I mean, he comitts and then two days later Fulmer steps down. I have a feeling he'll stay. I think he sees a real opportunity to start as a freshman.

I never mentioned the health of "the program" just the recruiting class.

You are out of your mind if you think a coach or two that recruited these kids staying here doesn't help kids being recruited stay at Tennessee.

Way to take it out of context.

I highly doubt a new coach keeps anybody off of CPF's staff anyways.

If he has a brain he knew it was coming.

IMO it all depends on the speed and strength of the hire. Get to work Hammy!

It is almost impossible to get in contact with ANY EMPLOYED COACHES in college and NFL. The only legitimate shot in Bill Cowler in the sense that he is not coaching right now.

Chavis SUCKS, and is at the absolute TOP of the list of people needing to be canned right along with Fulmer. This house is WAY, WAY overdue for being cleaned out.

You don't seem to get it. I don't give a damn about this recruiting class. This entire coaching staff needs to be replaced.

Hypothetical situation here.

Say Lane Kiffen gets an offer. He wants to bring his dad, Monte Kiffen, the Tampa Bay DC. Do you say no, Chavis has to stay?

If Kiffen wants to control the offense, do you tell him he has to keep Clawson?

Maybe the new coach (whoever it may be) will attract new recruits if they have enough time to make it happen. So we might lose some guys but maybe we gain a few recruits.
