So what was the good news CBJ tweeted about last night?

We aren't going to be top 25 this year. And signing one of the bottom four classes in the SEC isn't going to net you much in the long run. Prepare for another 3 years of being trounced in every meaningful game.

Like I said, you guys can have your optimism. I am going to save myself from being let down. You will all be on my side sooner or later.

What side is that? I think we are for the Vols, but I could be wrong. I just think we will be back...ITS TENNESSEE...stay in the saddle! GBO! Besides, no one really ever knows how these classes are going to pan out untill much later. If these kids qualify and stay focused, they could be a solid class that contributes to the program very well.

Sad thing is every game is going to be meaningful. KY, Vandy, MO... If we can pull an upset (never mind, just looked at the schedule)...need two big upsets to get to 8 wins. Long road

Yeah, because he didn't win at his other stops either. You are looking like a fool. Or a 12 year old little girl that expects something to change immediately.

I am supposed to get excited over a guy who managed to get his team to the Liberty Bowl? Spare me.

You do realize that the bowl tie-ins weren't the best in that conference? Or maybe not.

2014's class will give us much more of an idea of what Jones can pull in. I'm not going to say the guy is done after less than 2 months on the job and having to flip recruits in that short amount of time. We got in on good recruits in 2 months. We'll see what he can do with a year to establish relationships. To give up after 2 months and zero games coached is nothing short of absurd.

He won conference championships at his last two jobs, what's your point?

You are right, I forgot about all the Nick Sabans, Steve Spurriers, and Kevin Sumlins he was coaching and recruiting against at his last two stops.

I have no problem with you taking the stance of "wait til next year's class." I think you are wasting your time, but I don't have a problem with it. As for the rest of that ****, I am not giving up on him, I never wanted the guy to begin with.

Recruit better.

haha really? How about you give him a complete recruiting cycle before you judge him on that. Is it that hard to understand we have been irreverent for the past 5 years? Expecting Coach Jones to turn in a top 10 class two months on the job is just stupid. The guy has won everywhere he has been lets just wait and see

I've seen this again and again here at VN and I just don't get the logic. Yes, Jones' first class does not rank above Franklin's 3rd class. Forgetting, for a moment, that Vandy is coming off a 9-win season and a bowl victory, how exactly is Jones EXPECTED to have a better class of recruits? He had a few weeks to establish relationships. Franklin may have been working some of these kids for at least a year if not two!

I can only hope we get a chance to see Jones' 3rd recruiting class.

The logic is simple.

UT should never finish behind Vanderbilt in football recruiting or on the field in football.

It should be every Vol fans birthright to expect to be better than Vandy and Kentucky in football.

Almost a century of dominance over that program in Nashville gives Vol fans the right to expect that.

Period.

Learn to read and save me the blow hard explanations of how bad this program has been. I have been here for it too.

I said recruit better, not that I expected a top 10 class.

Close on a couple more players like Bell, Lawson, Ford, instead of whiffing on almost every high value player mentioned the last two weeks.

Not expecting him to be Helen Keller but closing on a guy like Bell and build some positive momentum could have done wonders.

it was a PR move. trying to get fans excited when he knew the day was going to be a letdown. best staff in the country remember so far jones has talked alot and been a huge letdown. he already has 2 strikes against him. when we win 4 or 5 games next year might as well start the coaching search again. talk isn't going to help his coaches recruit, win recruiting wars or win games. he needs to figure this out.

How does he have 2 strikes against him?

The man takes a 50th ranked recruiting class and puts it near the top 20, and people still b**** and moan about it...

I'd suggest you find something else to do on football Saturdays then. He's going to be the coach for the next 3 years at least.
