So who’s going to be coaching at USC next year?

Short version, the school is ****. The school never wanted Ed, the school is going to get what it wanted. Shitshow. Imagine the administration hoping its coach loses. The whole school is ****, and not talking just sports.

Nasty people.

Didn’t they just lose John Emery for the year because he was registered for the wrong summer school class? I know the issues that you’re taking about go much deeper than making sure a player is in the right class, but that just seems like a microcosm of what’s going on down there.

Yes he (Emery) is gone but not for that, I would rather not say but its academic. Its kind like when they said Arik's body was hurt and he missed home kind of thing. Its not a lie, but just not the complete truth to protect them.

That's a separate deal. The school itself is wacko city, meaning in general. It has nothing to do with sports. As for the sports side, the decision to get rid of the cookie monster was a long time ago. I would not send my kid to LSU, and I would probably discourage them to go on an athletic scholarship if given other options. Barring something unusual, he will be gone unless he goes all the way to getting the trophy again. And even that might not stop them, very bad blood on this one. At this point, I've heard two stories about whether or not they are going to pay the buyout.

As far as Emery, he has been kind of a bust for the team considering his natural ability.

Why are they so hell bent on getting rid of O?

Lots of reasons, they never wanted him to be the coach to start with. The school itself is ran by a bunch of wackos and pc assholes. The AD they hired in 2019 didn't want him but put up with him because he had no choice. If he hadn't won the trophy in 2019, they would have ran him out at that time. The cookie monster lives his life like a normal human being and wants to get laid, they don't like that. The really don't like him at all, never did. He didn't have as much authority as people believe, but I'm not going to say he is completely innocent either.

Wackos plus bad blood. They act like they support him but they've spent about 3-4 years trying to get rid of him.

SC athletic director Bohn made the greatest hire of his career back in 2016 when he hired Luke Fickell at UC. What Fickell has done with Cincinnati has been a miracle. Bohn has made no secret about his choice and it would be a homerun hire. Fickells teams are so fundamentally sound that he will instantly impact SC. Would he take the job???? 50/50 at best as he has said he wants to keep his family in Ohio, his son is a freshmen there, he makes upward of 3M a year, and now has Cincinnati in the BIG12 which will greatly influence recruiting. I have seen numerous podcasts on Fickell and impresses me as an extremely intelligent and loyal guy.

I'd say Bohn would like to have Fickell, but being Southern California, will the pc/woke crowd push for James Franklin? Not that Franklin is not a very good and proven coach and I can see SC as being one of the few programs Franklin would consider as being above Penn State. The appeal to him is being at the controls of the top program in a conference (he doesn't have to look up to OSU, Alabama, Oklahoma or Clemson every year); Oregon is very good, but does not have the cachet that Southern Cal does? Franklin could be very formidable at Southern Cal.
