So Worley almost beats 2 ranked teams yet...

Worley was not why we beat SCe. Our Defense, 3 bailout catch's by North and we ran the ball well. Way too much credit is being given to Worley. We scored 6 points the whole second half and 3I of those were as time ran out. And Pig cant be blamed for the GA loss. No way GA should have been able to go right down field on that last drive and even tie it up. 2 last minute 4th Qtr drives cost us 2 wins and being 7-5 and in a bowl.what teams didn't look good against GA's D. Just saying I didn't see Worley playing that much better nor do I think he is our QB next season.

Just face it. Dobbs sucked a big one this year after everyone was acting like he was the second coming of Jesus. The Vols wouldn't have beaten SCar or even been in the game with UGA if Dobbs were the QB and yes Worley would have beaten Candy. The difference between Worley and Dobbs is that Worley would of had us in a bowl had he not gotten injured.

There is no way to tell what our QB will be come next fall, spring will be wide open. But if "almost" is something you can hang your hat on then Derek Dooley would still be the coach here. And by my count worley was 1-4 against ranked teams as the starter this year so that stat nor his personal stats are exactly wowing anyone

Worley has beat more ranked teams than Tyler Bray and I combined!

I'm trying to think of a time when he threw alot of passes short and can't. There was a tremendous lack of trust in his receivers. You could see that... and it wasn't unwarranted. The better they got, the better he looked.

You have a selective memory. You can find worm bruisers in every game he played. He's not good at all as much as some people want to be. I knew this back in spring. Most of his picks were underthrown balls.

Worley didn't beat SC, our football team #117 did. Worley was actually doing his thing until North bailed the team out.

Yep. It makes as much sense to say "Zach Fulton almost beats 2 ranked teams" as it does to say "Justin Worley" did.

The guy played pretty badly this year. He looked as bad in the Alabama game as he did in the Oregon game. I didn't see any of the improvement everyone is talking about. I get that most folks here love excuses like they love their children, but the idea that somehow our team would have been vastly improved were he not injured seems to ignore all observable evidence.

Uhhh... No he didn't.

Jones is too smart for our fanbase's own good. I wonder if he realizes keeping all of our players happy so as to not lose anyone at a critical position and take the heat off of those who do play, when he'd rather have not been forced to play them to start with, comes at the cost of our fanbase losing its head by reading wayyyyy too much into things and filling in sentences with things he never said?

:)

Ok, so Ill say Worley has quarterbacked the team to more wins over ranked teams than tyler bray and me combined.

Like it or not but QBs get the blame more than the other 10 positions on the field and they get the credit. No one on here every complained about how Fulton, Richardson, Neal, even godawful Brendon Downs should be benched but practically everyone complained about Worley....until he was gone!

I'm not saying Worley was awesome he played well enough not to lose it and played a lot better. He should also get credit for completions if we are going to blame him for the WRs not running routes right or dropping balls earlier in the season.

He was part of the win. Dobbs was part of the loss to Vandy. I just don't understand why some people think the only guy who hasn't played and was 3rd string, almost 4th string is predicted to start over JW.

My question is not whether he Worley seperated himself from everyone and their is a wide gap. This is about Fergy > JW please explain that.

I also think its unfair JW got the blame on every incompletion, not the WRs, yet he doesn't get any credit for completions. He doesn't get any credit for that deep ball.

Was JW not hurt in the SC game and did that not affect his playing?

He was already hurt in that game. Worley might not be a world beater but he takes care of the ball and makes smart plays. That alone can be a huge difference in a lot of games. Ill take him any day over some turnover machine freshman.

Great catches by North aside, somebody had to throw the ball and give the receivers a chance to make a play. We aren't tallying all the drops Worley's receivers had this year, so I see no reason to discount passes where a receiver made a play.

By my untrained eye, this team was playing its best football before Worley was injured; I don't care who runs faster. And I don't think it's stretch to suggest this team would be bowling had he not been injured.

Have to agree here and to add to it, it looked like Worley was gaining confidence in both himself and his receivers.

In my opinion, the position is Worley's to lose but Ferguson will be on his heals as soon as they get the pads back on.
