So Worley almost beats 2 ranked teams yet...

Again, I'm trying to figure out why people say this. Fergy was basically tied with Dobbs so could've easily been last... behind him and Peterman who looked lost. Now, he's the only one with no experience.

Then Worley played very well enough to beat Ga and SCjr, so where is the reasoning that says he won't be the starter again?

To begin with, CBJ came out in the week after the Bama game and said that Ferg had suffered a stress fracture in his lower leg during the Bama week practice. He also said that if he wasn't injured that he would have been in the game not Dobbs. If you go back and listen to some of the spring practice videos it was also said by coaches that Ferg had the strongest and most accurate arm of the four QB's. As others have said we have seen Worley's ceiling and it isn't that good. Unfortunately for Worley he is afraid to tuck the ball and run, and he showed that by refusing to do so in games. Our coaches will play the QB that allows them to run their offense with the most effectiveness. In this offense "THE QB MUST RUN THE BALL SEVERAL TIMES PER GAME" in order for the offense to work. Just look at Mizzu and Auburn. That isn't Worley. The starter next season will be Dobbs or Ferg. Worley will be a backup and Peterman may be told to move on to make room for other freshman.

If anyone had a deer in the headlights look it was Dobbs not Worley. Just because he didn't run much doesn't say anything. It's anybodies guess who is starting next year. Ferguson may blow them both away. No one knows.

on the QBs depth chart for a change? It's time for a little peace in the valley for awhile, is it not? Spring practice and competition will surely arrive again in the new year.

Was Ferguson here for spring practice?

Right now Justin is the most stable qb we have. I just don't see the intagibles in Dobbs...and remember Brent Schaffer could run as well...and he ran himself right out of the program.

I don't believe Dobbs is even close to being as talented as Schaffer.

Neither can McCarron, what's your point? He still beat SC with his arm.

Micheal Palardy beat South Carolina my friend. He kept them pinned deep in their own territory the whole game with some great punts. Throwing for 140 yds doesn't show me evidence of the qb beating the other team. Tennessee won in spite of sub par qb play in that game.

"A lot better"?
Meh. He improved as well as some of the players around him. A lot better is a stretch.

I was unaware he had been named the started since the UK game. If thats I true, I guess your right.

He got a lot better compared to how bad he was lol. Well the only reason he didn't finish the season as the starter was the injury and Dobbs actually got worse (Vandy). I just don't see how he wouldn't still be the starter. How did he lose it???

Thank you! Needs to be stated again.

It doesn't matter how much they praised him. The point is he was very close to Dobbs so could easily be 4th string in a matter of a few practices.

And sorry, but I must disagree and say Jones will start the QB that best gives them a chance TO WIN. That's why Worley started and why he came back after he got benched. Unless any of the freshman make HUGE strides I don't see Worley losing the job unless the injury really affects him.

Uhhh... No he didn't.

He made some improvement as the year went on, there is no denying that.

I don't think Dobbs took the job after the injury by any means. I also don't think Worley put it in concrete either with his starts.

I expect them (along with Ferguson) to go into the spring having to win the job. I don't think he's gonna hand it to any of them before then and I haven't seen any reason why he should.

As GA said. I think we have seen Worleys ceiling. If one of the young guys can't make enough strides to exceed that Jones will be in trouble heading into year 3 and 4.

Sounds good to me. I just find it crazy a few people say Fergy will start over Worley like Worley didn't get better and help win the SCjr game. Of course, we shall see. It's not like they said Dobbs showed potential and gets in done in spring practice, no, it's the one guy who hasn't played a down lol

So the SCjr game means nothing in discussion with who developed more as a decent QB?

I see it as Worleys to lose. Ferguson was close to being a 4th stringer and has yet to see the field yet somehow people believe he may start over him. It just doesn't make sense to me :/

You keep prattling on about Ferguson being a 4th stringer yet fail to acknowledge that he was set to come in for Worley until he ended up in a walking boot during the week leading up to the AL game.

You don't know any more about how any of these quarterbacks looked in practice than anyone else on here to say who should be starting next year.

Just using a few magical heaves from Worley as "evidence" that he is the best QB.

Frankly, none of them are very good at this point IMO and, whoever becomes the starter will look much worse behind a rebuilt O line next season.

I am hoping like most that Dobbs or Ferguson steps up because we have seen Worley's ceiling and, it isn't very high.

A lot of people were calling for Dobbs before he played a down. I'm not saying Fergy should start I'm just saying the qb competition should be wide open this spring.

Hopefully the competition makes them all 3 raise their games.

Somehow I keep seeing people saying they'd like to see our 4th stringer start off the season. Would someone please explain? I'm an ol country boy and am trying to honest to goodness figure it out.

Worley starting clicking and went from gosh awful to a QB that almost lead us to 2 upsets before going out with the injury. No way they lose to Vandy with him. So someone please show me the light lol

Worley throws worm bruisers. He's still very bad.
