So Yahoo! Sports may be in town...

Given the mess in the military right now, not sure I can disagree with you. I'm all for women serving, just don't think they should be mixed with men. Just look at the consequences to date. As for the UT scandals, I see nothing that's any different from what you'd see with disgruntled male employees except use of terminology here and there.

As a former infantry guy, I couldn't agree more. I had this argument with a woman in class one day. I knew I had won when all she could come up with was, "...well you can't give birth!"

Open question: who do you think leaked the Jenny Wright scandal to Jimmy Hyams? And why didn't they accept her resignation and move on. It's not like this is something new, players sleeping with UT employees. Thus the interest from Yahoo! Sports.

The university. They also released the documents to show the university was doing everything possible to get down to the bottom (giggity) of the investigation and the Ms. Wright was not cooperating.

Rumors swirling that Charles Robinson's insertion team may be in town. The Jenny Wright scandal perpetuated by Susan Martin will not be the only thing they will be looking into.

Why would any competent admin at any University place a very young and very attractive (opinion) lady in such a position? In the name of political correctness or affirmative action?

I was thinking the same thing when I saw her. As soon as she got divorced I would have changed her responsibilities.

Who is the person that hired her specifically? Was it a single person in admin or a committee?

Their head(s) should be on the chopping block no questions asked...........

It is pretty evident that very relaxed rules (liberal) have been allowed at UT over the last several years. UT is paying dearly for their confused, stupid, clouded decisions from the top down.

We were operating for a few years without a freaking president....WTF?????

Then, when we get one, he is just as clueless and incompetent as the rest of the admin.

Last summer at Lipscomb he spoke and regularly referred to Bob Kessling as "Bob Key-sling". Everyone sitting around me was like wth??? Who is this guy?????

I think it's been sort of suggested that Susan Martin was out to get a witch hunt going...it appears she's succeeded.

Susan Martin would like nothing more than to do massive damage to the athletic program. It has too much testosterone and masculinity to suit her. She fails to see the value of a healthy athletic program that brings passionate UT alumni and supporters together at the sporting events. These people are also ones who contribute to promote academics.

I guess she wants everyone to hug the nearest tree and sing Kumbaya and get excited about bike paths and windmills.

Where is the leadership of DiPietro and Jimmy Cheek to reign in this woman from Berkley? They either support what she does or just too weak to do anything about her.

It would be interesting to do a study on when Martin and Cheeks took power and when our entire men's athletic programs started to decline. You name it every men's sport except maybe tennis or golf are bottom feeders of the SEC. There is absolutely no excuse for this. We need leaders at the top to do what is necessary to correct this. Cheek and Martin are definitely either incompetent or deliberately trying to destroy our athletic teams.

I agree that not having a prez for a while and cheek coming along has been a bad combo. Big reason why I'm so sympathetic to Dooley for his time here. Being hired by hammy, taking over after Kiffin, dealing with cheek, etc (list can go on and on) is just a storm thats tough to get through in such short time for anyone. Anyway, I'm under the understanding, that just like many people on here including me, there's a coach from the previous staff that believes UT may/will never get straightened out until Cheek is gone.

Which sux and the reason why I'm so cautiously optimistic about the future.

(Side note: To bad JWs life has turned out this way. Would've never imagined. Sad.)

Unless there is proof that coach Martin or other people at the school new she fixed grades and let it go on I don't think the NCAA will be interested in this. Especially after the way they screwed up the Miami investigation In the end this will be just something else that makes the university look bad IMO.

Today on Sports 180, Josh and Will had Jimmy Hyams on, who informed the listeners that the university has brought in independent counsel to further investigate the matter of Wright’s “inappropriate relations,” and that said investigation was specifically looking into relations Wright might have had with two other UT student athletes, a basketball player and a football player.
:eek:hmy:

Gossip?
Guesses?

Dooley sucked as a coach but I believe he ran things clean. I don't think Butch has had time to do much wrong. I think football will be fine. Now with trea throwin round the meat sword I dunno bout the basketball program....
I would hope Dooley ran things clean. If he had to cheat to get the results he got, then I would just be at a loss of words.

Oh I agree. Just meant its sad she end up this way. There are girls u know that will and arent surprised. Then there are some that truly surprise u when they do. That's all.

So maybe an investigation shows that Cheek and Martin failed in being aware of, or controlling the Jenny Wright situation, and both are terminated. The university moves forward, and those two just move on...a win win for all involved!

Susan Martin has been at UT a while. I took a Latin class from her in the early 90's. I don't know if she's above firing or not but it would have to be something very serious...this may qualify.

You know, I see Susan Martin attacked on here alot and yet I've never seen anyone post one bit of proof that she is trying to sabotage our athletics programs.

Please enlighten me with something other than rumors.

I've socialized with her on a few occasions, and while the subject of UT sports has never come up, I never got the sense that she was the kind of aggressive, agenda-mad, or underhanded person as everyone here seems to paint her. She has always seemed pleasant and even rather laid-back.She seems to care about the students and really, her job is to oversee academics, so I don't see where her opinion of and/or support for athletics matters anyway. I've never heard of a football coach being hindered by a provost, but if that is the case, then that speaks to utter incompetence with the Chancellor, President, and Athletic Director.

Honestly, your last sentence may very well speak volumes on the subject. But that's just strictly a guess on my part...just my 2¢ worth of opinion.
