Softball Week 3 - USF Tournament

This team is young. Give them time to grow. Don’t go firing the coaches yet. They’ve put to much into this program to be thrown away like that!

I like the Weeklys. I didn’t say I wanted them gone. Clearly I’m just saying it’ll be hard to let them both go since they’re co-head coaches IF the time ever comes. Also, for what it’s worth, I know they’ve put a lot into this program and sport in general with WCWS appearances, successful seasons, helping with the national team, and getting big players to the SEC. I’d be lying, however, if I said I wasn’t frustrated with the program and what seems to be happening under their leadership, but that’s just my opinion. I recognize I’m only looking in from the outside. Still, I imagine there are others who feel similarly. I’m not abandoning ship, though. I’ll ride the Weekly train til it won’t chug no mo.

Baserunning error costs in first. Seggern round second on one in gap ball was caught dp

Said it was postponed so I assumed tech will probably play us midweek sometime. Ayala made a nice throw to get girl at plate.

I get that it doesn’t count for anything, but if we get pummeled, at least we can chock it up to them being the best athletes in the world and that it won’t affect Selection Sunday I guess. Nevermind team morale or player confidence. I know it’s on the schedule so there’s no getting out of it, but I’d be hard pressed to buy that it’s not on their minds or won’t be for a few days after. I hope I’m wrong about all of it. If we manage a win or even keep it close, it would be a great turning point. Just don’t see it happening yet.

I'd be worried more about Lipscomb run ruling them Wednesday than the USA team next month.

Observations from behind plate for short time:
Better get use to McCrary at 3b, Willingham at SS, and Webber at 1b it seems to be the way we are heading. Chelsea has settled into 2b looks much more comfortable there.
Callie could not grip the ball at the end tried rosen but couldn't find anywhere to keep it dry and that is when Ralph came out to talk to umps and game was called. It was not a pour down but it was raining pretty good at that point and the infield wasn't going to handle much more.
Looking straight on at at her the Callie closing her eyes thing is overblown couldn't tell it. She is still working on control but her pitches because of mechanics etc. are always moving. It would be hard for her to throw a straight pitch.
Parsons had a nice line drive clutch hit with two outs. Alaya and Allly combined for a beautiful throw out at the plate. Of course none of the stats count.
Will say Tech had a big and tall team in a good way.

I will say even though it was a dreary rainy day they were showing a lot of life in the dugout. I thought that was a positive.

Wow something new today website has a watch tab so guess we can watch the game. A lot easier to see what is going on if you can see it with your own eyes. I watch quite a bit of that ETSU loss thought the home plate umpire didn't know a ball from a strike. I also thought we got a little to aggressive on some plays that cost us. Hopefully we win today at least were the home team.

It's on Espn + in theory if you can get it. On the rain out game the sad part was the ump had a good strike zone which is rare these days.
