U-T i might take your opinion a little more if UT hadnt struggled with UAB, Marshall, Missippi, Alabama, Notre Dame, Vandy, Kentucky..

I agree. They should fire Richt at UGA for having close games with UAB, Marshall, MTSU, and others during his stint.

And UF...that wasnt that bad of a game against Wyoming...fire him too!

We were did not have comparable speed until around 96.

Joey Kent ('93-96) all-time leader in receptions
Marcus Nash ('94-97) 2nd all-time in receptions
Carl Pickens (89-91) 7th in receptions
Craig Faulkner (90-93) 8th in receptions

just to name a few.

Also, Alvin Harper, Anthony Morgan, Cory Fleming.

FYI - Carl Pickens is probably best pure athlete to play at Tennessee.

Just remember, Cutcliffe is the ONLY OC at Tennessee to lose to MEMPHIS. Losing is much worse than struggling.

Ignore this jag-off called U-T. He just wants to argue. If he defends "The OC" who is in charge of the entire offense then you know where he stands. That includes rb's, ol, recievers and play calling. And execution of the entire Tennessee Volunteer offense.

Sanders would not have gone .500 at Ole Miss.

Including a 10-2 season and a trip to the Cotton Bowl.

And... Developing two NFL quaterbacks, along with an overachieving Tee Martin and Heath Shuler. One thing you can say about Sanders players; they don't overachieve.

You continue to make my point. How many head coaching jobs has Sanders been offered?

He's been offered a few from what I understand.

Where?

BTW, what does Sanders job opportunities have to do with Cutcliffe and his OM stint? You tried to make Cuts 1 year at OM seem good but in reality it was just one year...which many crappy coaches even have

He is not our OC. But he has interviewed for several, including Cincinatti, and is on the watch list at ESPN to receive offers.

I don't have that info, maybe someone will. Seems like a couple were in the NFL. Not for sure though.

So because Cutcliffe got offered the OM job and Sanders hasn't interviewed for other jobs....shows what again? No one here is saying RS is better then Cutcliffe

You didnt answer my question at all. You went moaning about how an OC's job is to make someone over-achieve yet Peyton only won 1 SEC Title and my god...how many people have you heard that didn't even know that?

In just about everyone's eyes, Peyton under-achieved at UT and UF is the prime reason.

Just going through you view

Agreed... what does it say about a coaching staff who helps a crappy quarterback like Clausen overachieve, and someone like Peyton underachieve??? A lot of people can do the former, but it takes a special lack of aptitude to accomplish the latter.

Praising the coaching staff for helping Casey Clausen overachieve simply provides evidence to the fact that the coaching staff was too stupid to find a better quarterback for two years, so we were stuck with the "Iceman" who couldn't complete a pass longer than 17 yards. Heck, Rick looks like a better QB than Casey.

On another note, we all should be careful of firing Sanders, after all, isn't Casey the QB coach or something now at UT??? That's all we need is to give Casey a reason to stick around and drown us in mediocrity for the next 10 years.

I would look at it like this, nobody wants Sanders. There is a reason for that.

the thing with sanders that kills me is, he is not imaginative at all.

all these others coaches come up with these wild plays and we run the same stuff.

i do not like sanders but listent to this. all these plays go through cpf first and foremost. he tells sanders if he can run the plays.

neither of these guys are offensive coordinators and ut should hire a new guy who has brains and balls. someone who coaches like norm chow.

The Casey/Danny W. situation proves the point IMHO.

Comparable talent - one wins the Heisman, one doesn't make the NFL. Why did Danny W. even have a shot at the Heisman? The offensive scheme at UF (coaching) allowed him to amass big numbers.

Danny W. was a flop in the NFL. He just got more opportunities than Casey because he was the Heisman trophy winner. You can't chalk it up to his superior brain power. He was in a SYSTEM that produced points and struck fear into opponents.

Almost all of Spurriers QB's played in the NFL because they were successful at UF but none have been successful in the NFL. Why? The SYSTEM at UF allowed them to generate stats beyond their talent level.

Our current SYSTEM fails to do so.

Look at Auburn. With Petrino - big numbers. Petrino leaves and they have problems at OC, crappy offense. Hire new OC, solid offense and 13-0.
