Why don't you go run some kids off your lawn. You must be related to my ex-wife. She too was an expert on things she knew nothing about. Butch Jones is a winner. You sir are a loser. The length of time you have been posting on this site does not make your posts any less annoying. From reading your posts my guess is you are Vince Dooley or a close relative. Whatever the case (insert one finger salute here). If you actually have an argument that goes deeper than dew then I'll say something different. It unfortunately takes a good bit of quantity to answer the quantity of false arguments presented here. You probably don't get tired of hearing things you agree with though... you just don't like it when someone gives good reasons not to agree.
FWIW, I've posted about 240 posts per month since joining the board... about 55 per week. Just about the same rate as you. I'm sure that all of your posts are gem quality though....
Funny you would bring up USCe.
Spurrier's second college career unlike his first one has been built on winning close games.
In truth, and few have been any harder on the staff for last year's results than me, UT was probably Worley's injury away from a 6 win season or even 7. I think a game "managed" differently vs Mizzou would have been MUCH more competitive.
We could have beaten Mizzou last year IMO. Their weakest point was their secondary. For all his faults, Worley can expose a weak secondary. It would have been a tough game to win, but our downfall was having a QB on the field that (at the time) couldn't throw a ball to save his life. A QB whose strength lies in his ability to run the ball doesn't do very well against a team with a monster D-line like Mizzou's.
I'm curious here for your thoughts here. How much more competitive do you feel the game would have been?
I mean they pretty much did what they wanted against that defense; the only reason UT only held them to 31 even was because half way through the 3rd quarter they called off the dogs and just ran the ball every play until the game was over.
And I am sure this is what many thought about OU v Alabama. This is CFB and anything can happen. We can beat Oklahoma. Believe it.
So you're saying there's a chance????Better worry about beating Utah St. First. Huge Vol fan here but this program is still not anywhere close to being able to compete with the likes of an Oklahoma, Alabama, LSU, or even AU at this point. In a year or two, maybe.. The only way to win those games right now is if the other team plays completely flat and win the turnover ratio by at least 3 to 1
This is true...we likely would've lost the game if not for that amazing catch, but do not forget that USCe should have been called for defensive pi on the play. Also, Worley was being rushed and was a second away from being sacked so he threw it up to North knowing that he would have a good chance of making that catch against one on one coverage. That was a great play as much as it was a lucky play.It also could have been a 4 win season if not for a miracle catch against So. Carolina.
I agree. I was responding to a post that someone thought that we could have had a 7 or 8 win season IF this and IF that. I merely pointed out that it also could have been worse. A big factor in the S.C. game was a season's worst performance by Conner Shaw. Some of that may have been due to our defense that game. This is true...we likely would've lost the game if not for that amazing catch, but do not forget that USCe should have been called for defensive pi on the play. It bothers me to read about that game when people talk about it like we only won because of one freak catch. Tennessee as a team, Worley included, played a great second half, and we earned that win.
