Some top grad transfers for UT to pursue

Cook is worth a look. High school track and weight lifting guy with good grades. He has good size and has 24 starts at Central Arkansas.

John Cook would be an interesting pick up. He has one year of eligibility remaining... Would be nice to find a guy like that with 2 years but that may be asking too much.

Think they could pursue hybrid S/LB Jawaun Johnson from Northern Illinois? 18.0 TFLs, 5 Ints and 5 FFs last year.

How is LSU looking at CB this year?

IF we end up taking Alexander, you've gotta think the coaches are truly unhappy with what they've seen at CB so far this spring.

They only have 6, total. That’s what happens when everybody leaves for the NFL early.

On Nick Harvey, A&M CB grad transfer...

Texas A&M transfer defensive back Nick Harvey didn't want to say too much following his official visit to Knoxville that left him impressed and the Vols a factor in his next destination.

“It was a great visit. I don't want to say too much right now. I want to go home and discuss it with my family and see if this is the best fit for me. “There's a lot of things I could say about it. It's more than what I expected. I loved it. I loved everything about it. I had a great time there.”

in his next school, nick harvey is looking for an opportunity to play right away. He’s looking to develop his game, too, to reach the next level. Tennessee checked off both of those boxes during harvey’s official visit to see the vols this weekend. “it was more than what i expected,” harvey said on his way out of town on sunday, “and i loved everything about it. Just had a great time here at tennessee.”

if playing time didn’t exist right away, at a position of need, the vols told harvey they wouldn’t be chasing him. “coach (kevin) sherrer, coach (jeremy) pruitt, they all showed a great amount of love to me,” harvey said. “they told me they wouldn’t be trying to get me if they didn’t want me to come here and play right away.”

in three seasons at texas a&m, harvey totaled 107 tackles in 34 games, had 14 passes defended, an interception and a fumble recovery. The richmond, texas, native was the no. 60 overall player in the 2014 class according to the industry-generated 247sports composite, as a four-star prospect ranked no. 7 among cornerbacks and no. 8 overall in the state of texas. Harvey is still considering south carolina, arizona, auburn, oklahoma state and florida, along with the vols, he said. He has one official visit remaining, which he could use during the coming weekend. "i’m deciding between oklahoma state and florida," harvey said of the lone official visit left to use.

The 5-foot-10, 185-pound harvey said pruitt’s successful past as a defensive backs coach and defensive coordinator, as well as that of safeties coach charles kelly, is something he’s taking into consideration with the vols. “it’s a big factor,” said harvey, who was hosted during the weekend by tennessee defensive back todd kelly. “the guys they put out are good guys and they’re doing well in the league, too. I could see myself playing for both of those guys.” harvey is set to announce his commitment on may 11, the day he graduates at texas a&m. “it’s going to be a special day,” harvey said. “everything is perfect.”

Pass this on to Coach. There are 2 kids that I saw play this past fall should be invited to camp as walkons. Cade Pearson and. Tyrese Maybin of Huntington.

Didn't see a thread for Warmack so I posted this here. I posted the segment on Brandon Kennedy in his thread.

Rivals: Five available grad transfers that will impact the 2018 season
Dallas Warmack, 6-2/306 OG, Alabama

As a recruit: Warmack collected several offers but made an early decision to follow in his brother Chance’s footsteps and committed to Alabama during the summer prior to his senior year.

As a Crimson Tide: After enrolling early in Tuscaloosa in 2015, Warmack worked his way onto the field as a reserve as a true freshman. He saw an uptick in playing time in 2016, appearing in nine games, also as a backup. He took a step back in 2017, redshirting while not appearing in any games for the national champions. Following spring practice, Warmack announced his intentions to transfer and will have two seasons of eligibility remaining.

Schools in the mix: Oregon, Tennessee

Farrell’s take: A Rivals250 guard, Warmack was not tall and a bit sawed off but had everything else you’d want. He was a good pass protector, a road grader in the run game and he reset well and showed excellent footwork. He was also very aggressive and physical at times. I thought he was going to be an interior star for Alabama and his upside is still excellent.
