Wow.... What the hell did people expect? We lost all of our offense last year, we knew our RBs didn't have break away speed or moves, yet we act like we have the talent of some top 25 team. Our team is better coached than Dooley's team and Butch has a track record to prove it.

People need to grow up. Reading the comments attacking the OP are ridiculous.

I keep trying to imagine a bunch of grown ass adults freaking out, melting down, throwing tantrums, and constantly berating every aspect of our football program, but I just can't do it.

Nope. But I can certainly imagine a bunch of drunken frat boy/frat boy wanna-bes doing exactly that.

If that is indeed the case, and the posters here are not predominantly teenage boys and girls going through puberty, then something is very wrong.

This morning, 39 people were murdered at a mall in Kenya, but our world falls apart because a group of young men in pads don't perform to our unreasonably high expectations.

Having perspective is one thing, having the maturity to handle slight disappointments in a sporting competition is quite another.

I've been a Vol fan since I was old enough to know the color orange, and now my kids cheer along with me. But, over the past several years specifically, this board has become a cesspool for every level of over the top complaining I've ever seen.

When I first joined, it was fun to banter, talk through strategies, and even knock around the annoying aspects of the team or coaching staff.

But, now, coming on this board takes all the fun out of the game. I love when we win, I hate when we lose. But, either I misunderstand just how important college football is in the grand scheme, or this board grossly overreacts to something more trivial than we are willing to admit.

Anywho. Take it or leave it. React to me however you wish. I'm open to being wrong, but just wanted to share these thoughts.

Can't wait to see the Vols back at the top, and I'm willing to weather the big and small bumps along the way.

Go Vols.
Exceptional.....Beautifully stated

You are being an emotional little girl yourself. Football fans talking about their team and complaining about terrible play, who would have thought it? ..
no one said football is more important than Kenyans , you can stop being such a whiner.

If nobody has said it yet I will. Football is more important than Kenyans. Kenya stuck us with this horrible president we have so screw them. OK enough political talk.

I feel for you guys. I really do. Watching my team play is tough sometimes. Ok a lot of the time. We are undisciplined, sloppy and stupid. I cannot imagine how you guys feel. What's it been six years of this? The fact that you people haven't just given up and said to hell with it is commendable.

So you like to go to a message board and vent? Big deal. It's better than taking it out on your wife and kids. If some people don't get that football is a big part of your life and that Muslims being Muslims halfway across the world is something you can do nothing about not are going to lose sleep over, then tell them to take their happy butts over to MSNBC and leave the football talk to the real fans.

When is the last time any of us spent a fall Saturday watching the news all day? Never.

Good luck the rest of the season. I really hope you guys snap out of this funk. UT has been down far too long. I'd much rather see y'all near the top than those barking buttheads from Georgia. They could go 0-12 every year until doomsday and it would not be enough losing for me.

Oh, and yes, the worst thing to happen to you all day was JD going down. He plays the rest of the game and you may well have won it. See ya next year.

I bet you're a Democrat. Enjoy Kenya. I'll keep posting what I see. Another horrible UT football team.

I am a republican and have worked on campaigns for several including newt G before he even became speaker. Was the President of the young repubs in college.

Totally agree with the OP. I am mad when I see Fooley and losing to Florida or Bama bit it doesn't possess my life. I see some of these posts after OP's and you guys are sad and pathetic dumb asses.

That is all.

Good day

The OP just doesn't understand how bad it is to watch a team implode and play like they have never been on the field before.

No! What is really bad is the death of your child. It is okay to be mad and upset about your football team but really read some of this stupid stuff. Sound like bama fans back in the day and they will be that way again in the future. They are dumb asses and now, so are a lot of you guys.

No one here, or at least 99.8% of them, are not going to drink themselves into absolute oblivion, beat their significant other, kid or pet, drive off a cliff, or be sent into a pysch ward for craziness or real depression because of being a fan of a really bad football team. But they are going to vent, and that's all you're seeing here. You are taking things way too literal and you are the one that needs to look into the mirror.

Not a vodka fan, but if you want to break out the Knob Creek, I might get a bit, no a lot, oblivious.

Kenya is a Christian nation. I still do not know why we would be posting about Kenya on VN unless we are recruiting one.

I thought they ran track or played basketball or something.

Mods need to move this tearfest to the politics forum where this bone head can get his/her ass handed to them.

Tough break for Driskel today, I feel really bad for that kid...and I wonder just how good Murphy is of if it was just the D making a backup look like a superstar again.

(I know its off topic, but this was one of the worst threads I've seen....Might as well fill it with something interesting.)

Pun intended?

don't change the fact that this is the worst vol football team i have ever seen.
