Good bump.

I've been living in the past the last 24 hours or so.

My favorite song by Styx is Castle Walls and Man in the Wilderness is close. Tommy Shaw and JY are the only two members left from the Styx I grew up with, but it's amazing how much they still sound like they did back then. Even the guy replacing Dennis DeYoung sounds like him.

If you're interested.

I saw a few minutes ago they were showing Top Gun in theaters for a week, but unfortunately the ones in my hood are not.

Would like to see it on the big screen again.

If I had money like JB at Amazon, I'd start a radio broadcasting company and play classic Rock and Roll but with a twist. I'd play mostly songs that never or hardly ever got played on the radio. Most of Styx best stuff never got airtime and I could name many many more bands I could say the same about.

Of course, this isn't a new idea I'm sure we've all had the same or a similar thought. I know I could suggest 3 songs by Styx that some of you have never heard. You might not like them, but I bet you'd see Styx as a band differently. They weren't always "Babe".

I know y'all could do the same with one of your favorite bands.

You hear a decent amount of their stuff on XM's Deep Tracks broadcast station. Every now and then they'll do a temporary channel devoted to Prog Rock, but it's usually only on the online streaming channels. I can listen to Styx for awhile but some of that stuff I cannot figure out. For instance, I still don't understand how ELP was ever a huge commercial success. I guess everyone was 'luded out back then.

Great song. Saw them a couple of times a few years ago when they were doing Ritual in it’s entirety. Mountain Song was one of the encores.
I will confess that, in younger days driving back and forth to college, I would que that song up in the cassette player in my CJ7 and hit play when I crested Monteagle.

I guess they were just happy to listen to something they could hear the music and words to after listening to Motorhead and Jaynes Addiction.

Styx rocked before Dennis DeYoung. After that... Not a big fan of much of their stuff.

Thats pretty much nothing, so you might as well just said you don't like them at all. Which is fine by me I already knew you had very little to no taste in music.

Pink Floyd managed to pull themselves out of that genre and carve a whole different niche. I tried a lot of their early stuff but soon discovered that I just could not get into anything pre-Dark Side of the Moon.

Every time I turn on the classic rock station here, within an hour I hear Come Sail Away and not long after Renegade.

Lady is still going strong.

Blue collar man still rocks.
Have you seen the video of the homeless man playing Come Sail Away on piano? Man, he was good.
