A lot of time spent on researching past records that do not have any meaningful impact on this year's game against TN. Welcome to the grind, You better hope Vanderbilt is not on your schedule late year because at that point it maybe a 50/50 game.Just a reminder OU’s all time record vs SEC teams (includes Texas,Mizzou,TAMU)166-100-7 so negatory sport. 22-13-2 not counting them.
Your own weak-kneed Coach said you SHOULD have LOST Saturday...
Next week...it WON'T EVEN BE A QUESTION!!!
I have a very objective view. Heupel one of the major reasons for Bob’s meteoric rise and the biggest reason by far we win the NC in 2000. And? Bob fires him as OC supposedly by phone from his vacation spot in Crescent Beach. Very uncharacteristic of him. The only OC he ever fired. The offense wasn’t that bad. QB play was a huge issue. We were all surprised. Scuttle butt is it wasn’t all performance. Nobody has found out what or if that was the case. Bob claims he wanted a pure Air Raid and switched to Lincoln Riley. But Bob who never interfered with OC’s forced the pistol on Heupel ( Brought the the guy in that started it to teach Josh). Also Josh’s last year Bob wouldn’t let the QB run and it was his strength. That handicapped Josh. He was a good runner. But I will tell you this Josh ( could have adapted since OU) if he’s got an Achilles heel it’s being stubborn about letting the defense take away your strengths and abandoning your best players. He is never going to deviate from attacking the defense based on the look.I have a question, how do the Sooners fans feel about Huepel coming back to town but this time as HC of Tennessee? Genuinely curious.
I know he was beloved as QB but stuff went down when he was on staff (I honestly don’t know the whole story so I’m not speculating on who was right or wrong or what). Just wondering if some view him as a traitor or if they genuinely wish him well
I was directly responding to a post. Keeping up a prerequisiteA lot of time spent on researching past records that do not have any meaningful impact on this year's game against TN. Agreed. Should have spread some of that onto Mizzou.@Sooner Redzone
Your schedule is horrible bro
#7 Tennessee
#2 Texas
#5 @ Ole Miss
#6 @ Missouri
#4 Alabama
#16 @ LSU
5 of top 7 overall ranked teams, plus #16 LSU. And 6 of top 8 ranked SEC teams
I'm sorry man. That is painful. First year and a schedule like that! Whew
Interesting, I’m sure there’s more to the story that we don’t know but it does seems like Huepel has a legitimate reason to be upset. Being fired over a phone call isn’t a great look, especially to a legacy like him.I have a very objective view. One year Tech had the worst run defense in the Big 12. Yes they had 8 in the box but we had Samaje Perine and Joe Mixon they got like 8 carries between them the first half. They interviewed Bob at halftime on TV and in his best Saban imitation threw Heupel so far under the bus it was crazy. Came out ran the ball the second half and blew it open. Another against OSU they were playing 8 in the box so he kept throwing long but they’d blitz a ton and the sacks resulted in too many 3rd and longs. Here again he needed to run the ball because they were in man and a succesful run goes the distance. He gave up on the run.
But he’s obviously one of the best play callers and offensive minds in college football. It was at the very beginning of his OC stint.
Pretty much. It’s not that all these Arkansas, South Carolina, Kentucky's are better teams but if you’re distracted or beat up they can beat you. Not even mentioning the murder’s row they face this year. If they play like they did vs Houston they may not win another conference game. How you feelin about that schedule? i feel bad for yall. I especially feel bad for yall with the crap luck on injuries. Last year we lost 2 of top 3 receivers. Bru Mccoy and Donte Thornton. And it killed us. How many receivers are yall out??? I think I read 3 of top 4 on your ON3 board? Plus a few O-line injuries?
Let’s don’t pretend those teams ( none come remotely close to Okla State in wins the last 15 years) are any better than Baylor, KSU & others. Now you’ve got LSU, Bama, UGA , and UF with NC’s so at the top there’s no comparison.Pretty much.
