I wonder who's gonna try and exploit tonys situation first.

(Spoiler Ahead)

....provided that he makes it to next week.

They did a really good job of showing who could exploit it. The now not so fat Vito kept dropping hints about it. Christopher seems to have his act together and is acting like a strong captain.

Epic stuff. The writers have done it again.

I'd keep watching, but it wouldn't be the same...

After thinking about it awhile, there are 19 shows left... I'm not really believing they kill off the star with that many shows left.

Great start to the season!

I can't really think that they'd kill him off. Like was stated above, there are 19 more episodes. With all the people involved in making the show, it would be VERY tough to keep quiet that TS was not filmed in the last 19.

I think it was done to create a power struggle in the family.

How could they kill him off...he is the show. The show revolves around Tony's relationships with every character on the show. Without him who could the show focus on. Plus I've seen countless previews of this season that have Tony in them for scenes that weren't shown last night.
Now I don't think there us any doubt Vito will try to exploit the situation if Tony is incompasitated(sp.) for the time being. Also, you know Philly Leotardo will milk it for all its worth. What a way to start the season though. I'm still picking my jaw up off the ground.

about the only way is to bring in a younger character who takes out Tony and his place at the same time. Audience has to like him tho, thats the tricky part.... like maybe a Ray Liotta type...

One interesting theory I've read on a few different message boards is that last night's show was actually the season finale, and the rest of this season's shows will lead up to that, with everyone having to wait until the final 8 shows next January to see what happens to Tony.

Usually, they start the seasons by showing Tony walking down his driveway to pick up the paper, didn't do that last night...

That is extermely interesting and really makes sense. Every season has started with Tony walking down the driveway. And there was alot that happened(Janice and Bobby's kid, AJ going to college, Uncle Juniors Alzeimers getting much worse) between season 5 and the season 6 premeire. Man...5 more days till the next one. That is probably the best season opener I've ever seen...for any show.

Alright show this week. Isn't going in reverse order anyway.

Love the symbolism in this show, like Tony seeing the light off in the distance and then being right under it a couple times.

I found this weeks episode to be pretty boring. Leaving him in a coma is worse than actually killing him off.

yeah... tonight's show showed how bad it'd be if he wasn't there... hopefully they wake him up or just kill him next week, pretty slow and boring overall...

I mean, the thought of Tony being a salesman is humorous, but that's not why I watch the Sopranos. I know there's more to it than that, but I don't really see the point in going all Six Feet Under on us.

Bring him back to life next week or be done with him. I've spent the last couple of years in and out of the hospital with my dad, I'm certainly not too happy about having to be there while watching one of my favorite shows too.

I can't believe the writers didn't take that into consideration.... :disappointed:

I still can't see them killing him off. He's just too much a part of the show to be gone with 10 more episodes this season and then 8 more starting in January.
Did anyone else pick up on the 'AJ to a life of crime' overtones last night. He swears to kill Junior and flunks out of college like both his father and Jackie Jr(a significant role model to him) did. I think it would be a morbid but effective end to the series if Tony survives, is unable to prevent AJ from following in his footsteps, and AJ is killed.

I don't know that they'd have to kill of AJ, just to see AJ follow in Tony's footsteps through murdering a family member would tragic enough in and of itself.

It's hard to imagine AJ actually going through with something... he was always behind on his grades, slacked on his football team, and now he's a college dropout... if anything he'll screw up badly.

True...Its just that every since I heard this was the final season I've been contemplating how the series will end and I keep thinking of people being killed off or going to jail. That's what I love about the show is there are so many ways it could go and the truth is I just don't have clue.......I love it.

Can't wait til Vito gets wacked. You could see Sil strokin' out from a mile away.

Good to see Tony's gonna be back in the action somewhat next week, if only from the hospital still.

I like Paulie, but he's probably not gonna last long either...
