So the day after, with all the material that has floated out now about some GOPers in fact having made statements explicitly rolling back or even eliminating Medicare or SS, and the GOP last night falsely calling Biden a liar on this subject, I'd say Biden baited them into that pretty well.

And so now, when GOP candidates deny they would scale it back, the Dems can point to this particular SOTU where Biden, correctly, said some (not a majority or even a significant number) were proposing this and therefore the GOP candidates cannot be believed.

For an old guy, he outsmarted the GOP pretty well on that one.
