SOTU Address

You have that right, but it happens everyday. Look at the congressional votes. How many lefties vote across the aisle?
Wait til Republicans take the senate and see how many cross the aisle. When a republican in the house crosses the aisle they are excorciated by the rest of the party, especially those from the Trump wing. His supporters are no less likely to toe the line than Biden acolytes.

He likes to complain about everything yet offer no reasonable solutions for anything. He and huff are flaming liberals that like to pretend to be “libertarian”.
Libertarians are by definition ‘hey, do what you want’ socially, just don’t push it on others, and fiscally Conservative.. and in many cases have much more in common with Conservatives.. he does not fit the Libertarian mode from what I have observed.. at all 😂, but a number of the Conservative posters on here actually do

And what exactly have you observed that doesn't fit the model? Which stance of mine in particular?

Libertarians have very little in common with the people calling themselves conservatives today. Only people really claiming that are modern day conservatives who love govt and spending

Libertarians are more like classic liberals.

Yep.. liberals of thirty years ago were not that bad.. 😂 I see Libertarians and Republicans (ideally) as wanting smaller government and less interference in a typical person’s (average citizen’s) daily life in an intrusive way.. and before someone goes.. uh.. abortion, that is a whole different kettle of fish lol

That's not what Republicans do at all. They like to claim it but don't support candidates who do it

Still curious which policy stance I have is so different than that of a libertarian. You're not the first to make the claim but could be the first to offer evidence. Let's see

"It will be my objective to phase out social security" straight from his mouth.

You do realize both Republicans and Democrats have been threatening to cut those programs for years right? It’s never happened and it never will. All this is is another liberal gaslighting technique.

The majority of hands-off libertarians are lazy nerds with beliefs that are useless when the government/corporate complex and opposition parties prefers you medicated out the ass, perpetually unhealthy, broke and financially crippled, morally empty, and/or literally dead. It's an excuse not to get your hands dirty while the country burns around you, and not a single libertarian has done a thing to make the world for the next generation a better place.

The goal of that speech was obviously to push some right-wing buttons. Biden's speech writers don't really believe that Republicans want to ditch Social Security. That was in the speech to spark anger from the "emotionally charged" Republicans in the gallery. MTG gave them what they wanted. She should have just ignored it.
Hot take here... I don't mind it. I actually want to open the floor. State of the Union addresses as intended are pointless and there to stroke an ego. Open the floor get state senators a chance to call out BS and ask questions.

I seem to remember a quote... lemme see if I can find it... (shuffles papers)... Oh yeah, here it is "Elections have consequences" - Barry Soetoro.

That's where all this started, Chief.

Shuffles more papers... I don't really see how that relates to my point. By the way Barry was right.

It might not, however you need to place this tribalism where it belongs, and that ain't with Trump.

"There was an election John, and I won" - Barry Soetoro.

Still doesn't relate to my point, but thank you for the "but Obama." Gone 6 years and you're still obsessing over him.

Most libertarians like to claim being a libertarian just so they can sit back and try to act like they are better than everyone else. The rest usually end up being closet libs

Most making that claim don't understand that saying "I don't care" is a valid stance. They're "small govt" types who need everything to be legislated one way or the other since it tells them what to believe. They don't want to make their own decisions without a cheat sheet
