Unless Lady Vol fans step up in a big way tomorrow and give the seniors the massive crowd they deserve.....

Their fans have really taken up with WBB. Just think. Holly had a chance to be their coach.

I was hoping the attendance title would stay with UT. I have been following the attendance figures since conference play began.

The attendance title will be lost, not because UT attendance has noticeably dipped, but because USC has had an unprecedented season and their fans have embraced the team and bought tickets in unprecedented numbers.

This is true, but Tennessee is way down. We have got to get back to winning, must make the FF this year or we will louse the title to USC again.

Statistically, there is no way the Lady Vols can win the attendance title. There would have to be 40,000 people inside TBA tomorrow in order to do it.

Does anyone know how long the UT attendance leader streak has been?

Attendance has declined every year since Holly took over. But I'm sure that's coincidence.

Embarrassing, and just another bit of recruiting leverage Dawn has on Holly... as if she needed it.

UT will, though, win the overall attendance race. UT is only 1,768 behind USC. UT will have played 2 more home games than USC.

Some people are acting like UT attendance has nose-dived. UT has won the attendance title for 11 consecutive years. They will again next year as well.

In Pat's last year the average was 14,414. This year's average is currently 10,772.

Looks like a pretty steep decline to me.....

SC's attendance is ascending due to many bandwagon fans. But, all that aside, winning the attendance record doesn't mean chit. But, two questions. The first, where did these official attendance figures come from? Deux, if Tennessee IS second that would be that UCONN is lower. So, is Geno and his team slipping?

UT lost a Legend in Summitt. An attendance decline was expected from her last season, when fans were buying tickets just to see Pat in her final season.

Avg. attendance under CPS started to drop off after Candace Parker and Company graduated. In CPS last year, the LVs average attendance jumped from 12599 in the preceding year to 14414.

NCAA Women's Basketball Attendance: Winners and Losers for 2012 - Swish Appeal.

I expect that next year with the star power provided by DeShields that the LVs avg. attendance number will jump up a good bit.

Yes, let's keep it "real" as opposed to needlessly and baslessly negative. Okay, google is your friend.

Here is the attendance history for the LVs first 28 years
UTSPORTS.COM - University of Tennessee Athletics - Women's Basketball

Best avg. attendance in this 1978-2008 period --(9,086)

Couldn't find data for 2009-2010 season but in 2011 and 2012 avg. attendance numbers were 12599 and 14414
NCAA Women's Basketball Attendance: Winners and Losers for 2012 - Swish Appeal

I think Franklin Pierce's point that fans were coming out to support CPS had a lot do with the big spike in her last year.

In the grand history of LVs attendance figures, having an avg. attendance of 10,000 + is historically a very good year (against the long term baseline).

Yes let's do keep it real, and the reality is your information is completely inaccurate. Before Holly took over the last time UT averaged less than 12,000 at home was the 96-97 season. Since Holly took over, they have yet to average 12,000. Again, I'm sure purely coincidence....

Darth, my bad. I looked at the wrong column in the 28 year chart.

But, avg. attendance for the LVs peaked in the Candace Parker championship years (2007-8 -15,796) and dropped after that. CPS last season did not even hit that mark. Attendance dropped in the baby vol era (Johnson, Stricklen, Cain, Manning, Williams etc.). While a strong group players (particularly Johnson and Stricklen) it lacked a superstar player. It will be interesting to see what happens next year with DeShields in the line-up.
