I don't understand the hate for Holly. Holly isn't going anywhere.

Attendance is going to continue to drop, players next year are not her going to change that. I have not attended a game since she became coach. I will not go to a VOLS wbb game while she is coaching either. She should never have been hired in the first place. Also, if boosters who donate big money to the university want her gone, she is a dead woman walking at that point. Any coach in any sport who gets cought in that is gone. It does not matter how many people get on here and moan and groan for CHW's coaching life. Money get's cut off coaches get fired, the only thing she has going for her is it is wbb not football which is the tail that must wag the dog at UT. Football is high profile. WBB is not, so it will fly under the radar for longer. I just do not understand why all of you love Holly so much. Seems to me, you would love to see the Vols win NC's and would rather have a coach that can do that than keep preaching to save Holly. It seems it is more important to some of you to save HW that it is to save the program.
What coach would you hire to replace Holly.:spank:

yeah.. tons of leverage..

Until the recruits visit SC and look up to the rafters and see all those National Championship banners..

Ya'll are ridiculous.

And how many of those banners did Holly put up?

Pat often spoke how important leading the nation in attendance was in their recruiting, and Holly has echoed that sentiment. Losing that is a big deal, whether you want to admit it or not...

How many banners has Dawn put up? Oh, that's right, none. I don't know why people act like she's won multiple national championships. Other than winning 2 SEC regular season titles, she hasn't done anything.

lol she wins a couple of SEC titles and fans act like she won national championships? Gee, what's that like? :birgits_giggle:

But one thing she does have now that Holly doesn't is the best fanbase. which she can now sell to recruits....

Where are all the fake Lady Vols fans anointing Staley and her team the next big thing? Yeah, but she is so a great coach. I bet Charlie Creme looks very stupid right now also. He talked about how the Lady Vols barely escaped by Kentucky in Lexington, but the almighty #2 Gamecocks just lost by double digits. I bet y'all are not singing her praises now! Go Lady Vols!

And Lady Cats. First program win over #2 ranked team.

How, exactly, is that measured. You might not understand how far the Lady Vols fandom reaches.

Well, the 2015 class wasn't sold, because I didn't see where Staley signed any top recruits for this class. People keep saying Staley is out recruiting Holly, besides Wilson, their other freshmen are not playing lights out. Let's see who both programs sign in the 2016*class before Staley continues to be praised.

And aside from Burdick and Massengale which Lady Vols are playing "lights out" right now? Staley built her program from scratch. Holly was handed a roster of All-Americans. Tennessee is playing great right now because the two seniors, who she inherited from Pat, are playing at another level. So I would agree, let's wait to compare the two as recruiters.....

All we can tell you is you are free to become a Gamecock fan any time you feel froggy jump.

In all honesty, from what I have seen so far I would not trade Holly for Staley. If you saw how Staley got outcoached her last couple of games, and how she was clueless as to why Mitchell would call timeout to give his seniors some recognition then I think you are seeing some of the faults that will drag her down before too long.

I think her act is going to wear thin in fairly short order.

Evidently too far to show up for the games....

Since there are Lady Vol fans around the world, I guess it would be difficult. Checking the attendance records for the past, it's easy to see that SC has a lot of new bandwagon fans. That's good for them. Now.

I'm referring to the last 3 signing classes. You act as if Dawn is so ahead of Holly in recruiting and coaching. Yes the seniors were inherited from Coach Summit, but who has coached and helped developed them the last 3 season. Holly may inherited a roster full of All-Americans, but she also inherited a lot of pressure to carry on a legacy and tradition. Dawn has no pressure at South Carolina now, but let's see if she can keep South Carolina near the top and continue to reel in elite recruits. No elite recruits from the 2015 class. She has been coaching way longer than Holly, but has never been passed the Sweet 16. Yeah, but Staley and the Lady Gamecocks programs are leaving Holly and the Lady Vols in the dust. Lol!

I wouldn't either. I'm not a USC fan (as others have suggested) but if I was I would have serious concerns about Staley's game management.....

Recruiting? Yes. Coaching? No. From a talent standpoint, I think South Carolina has the clear edge this year (even before Harrison went down) and that's a tribute to Staley's recruiting. Whether she can keep it up, as you noted, remains to be seen. But leading the nation in attendance certainly won't hurt....

She can tell a recruit we led the nation in attendance this season, but Holly can tell a recruit we have led the nation in attendance the previous 10 years. Yes, South Carolina has talent. Majority of that same talent came into TBA got defeated by double digits and then got bounced in the Semis of the SEC Tourney. Then a Tennessee team who lost its star player went to Columbia and almost won against the almighty super Gamecocks! But they have so much more talent than the Lady Vols. The same Lady Vol team that swept UK! I can't wait until next season when our roster will be healthy.

Because the team with the most talent always wins right? How many players on UT Chattanooga's roster do you think would start for the Lady Vols.....?

No and none on UT Chattanooga's roster, but what's your point? I'm just pointing out the fact that Tennessee has just as much of talent as South Carolina. Your argument is that Dawn has out recruited Holly and I disagree. Tennessee's 2013 signing class is better than South Carolina's 2014 class. We will see what a healthy and stronger Russell will do next season. I am hoping that Tucker gains strength and confidence in her knee and return to her USA Basketball form. With both teams healthy, we'll see who out recruited who.

Pat made UT an elite program, but there is no proof yet that HW is an elite head coach. If she manages to get this team, thin as it is, into the Final 4 then I'll gladly make the case.

The more likely outcome, however, is that we fall short once again and lose in a regional. No disgrace, but that puts pressure on Warlick to make that necessary step up the next couple of years with Deshields and Russell. If it doesn't happen then, it's a good bet that it's never going to happen. Is that a fair assessment?

SC almost doubled their average attendance from last season. The newspaper article gives a good explanation of the reasons. A lot IS attributed to Staley's charismatic personality but when you read the details, you will also see that there has been an all out promotion blitz and that Sc women's tickets are only $7. It will be interesting to see if they can maintain this level of fan support year in and year out.

That isn't a fact, it's your opinion. Considering USC was the preseason pick to win the SEC, has been voted ahead of UT in the polls all season, and had more players honored on the All-SEC team, I get the feeling your opinion isn't in the majority.....

Yes but as long as she keeps dominating the SEC, which considering the current state of the league is very likely, her job won't be in danger no matter how many times she falls short of the Final Four....

Lol! The same voters who left Andraya Carter off the All-Defensive team, but she leads the league in steals! Welch got Scholar athlete of the year, but Burdick is an Academic All-American! Are you serious? These awards are influenced by media hype and you know it. Based on the SEC Awards, Tennessee should finished at the bottom of the SEC. Media hype does wonders.
