I think Bob Shoop could be a candidate for the Vanderbilt job if Mason is canned after the Tennessee game.
Steve Addazio is an offensive guy and the HC at BC. Why is he going to be UT's DC?
Is he? I'm pretty sure he is considered a defensive guy. But tbf I haven't really paid much attention to them other than knowing teams don't seem to score a bunch of points against them.

He was UF's offensive coordinator under Urban after Mullen left. Before OC he was the OL coach. Again, he's the HC so why is he coming here?
Shoop would not succeed at Vandy. He's too much like Mason. Great defensive mind but he doesn't have the personality that it takes to gain traction there. Would struggle badly with recruiting. Vandy needs another James Franklin and Shoop needs to head somewhere with both low expectations and low competition for a few years.
Looking at what UK is paying Stoops, I believe a lot if good coaches would listen if the job was open. He's making 3.5 million this year. He'll make 3.75 in '17, 4 mil in '18, and 4.25 in '19. He's also got an incentive where he gets an extra 250K every year for every win over 6. If they won 9 he gets 750K extra. He also has no buyout.
IMO that's a pretty good salary setup for a HC, especially for UK.
All this talk of firing Stoops. I think it's not a done deal still though. If he beats USCjr, Vandy, Mizzou, New Mexico, Austin Peay, and upsets someone else then he's safe. 1st half UK would have beat all those imo.
Kentucky wears out crashes and burns halfway through the season every year it seems. Here's the way it'll probably end up this season.
Florida L
New Mexico State W
South Carolina L
Alabama L
Vanderbilt W
Mississippi State W
Missouri L
Georgia L
Tennessee L
Austin Peay W
Louisville L
Kentucky 4-8 2-6 in the SEC
"Wears out and crashes" Eh, Kinda.
But more than that it's just a product of the schedule. We always have a harder back 6 than front 6 so it's inevitable. Especially since UL is now last instead of first.
That said, we have looked awfully poor in the last halves, but they weren't games I expect to win anyway.
What's the word in the Bluegrass State? Is Stoops in trouble if he has another losing season?
Absolutely. If he doesn't win 6 he's fired. He's already lost a good amount of the fans.
I still think we have a chance at 6 though. We get Vandy, USCjr, AP, New Mexico State, and MSU at home. Steal one against Mizzou maybe and we get 6. I'd bet on 5 wins though.
UK may have a good crop to choose from with Les Miles and Dan Mullen possibly being fired this season.
