Man, that would be so much fun to just sort through those!
Why did you sell, if you don’t mind me asking and what were some of your prized cards?

They were all in my detached garage with all of my motorized toys.

I acquired them with the intent to sell. They’d been on shrink wrapped pallets in a warehouse since new. It was a blast sorting them all and even selling them. I loved hearing people’s baseball card memories and seeing the cards they pulled. The best case I had was ‘89 Upper Deck. Most were “junk cards”. The “junk” ones were actually the ones people wanted to buy. They wanted the enjoyment of opening them with their kids.

I sold all except for 7 cases.
3- 1989 Fleer baseball
2- 1990 Topps baseball
2- ‘92-‘93 Fleer basketball

I’m a teacher but last summer I worked part time at Scenic City Collectables in Ooltewah. It’s called Cranks Sports Cards now. Really good people there if anyone’s in the Chattanooga area.

I've never been but if I'm ever in the Ooltewah area I want to stop by.

I think you get a better price for bulk but you can submit one card if that's all you want graded. It might cost $20 instead of $16.

With PSA, you either have to pay for a membership or go through someone who is authorized to accept and submit submissions. I do PSA submissions through Nashcards in Mt. Juliet and I think I get the bulk rate even if I am not submitting a bulk quantity.

Some of my stuff, I use SGC because it's cheaper and faster. You don't have to pay SGC for an account and you can mail stuff directly to them.

With SGC you can also pay via PayPal which I like.

I ripped a box of 2022 Bowman University Football last weekend and pulled this A. Richardson lava refractor auto #/199. I guess I will send it to PSA then put it on eBay. I would love to get the Hendon Hooker lava refractor auto. Anybody ripped any new product lately they would recommend?

It was around $100 for a hobby box but I can’t remember exactly the cost. It comes with two autos per box and it had about 100 total cards total in it.

That is a NICE pull that I would definitely sell!
I want to get my hands on a Hendon also, but they are so expensive locally.
We only collect baseball, is AR hot right now? Will PSA have it back to you before the season starts?

There’s an ungraded, Hendon Hooker, on eBay right now for $59.99 buy it now.

I will be watching the dutch auction for Panini 1st off the line 2023 Select Draft this Thursday. Doubt it will get below $200 per box.

I think I only have one HH auto right now. I settled for SGC grading because I don’t have any plan to sell it. I’m not huge on most Leaf product but I really like the state pride cards.

i don’t mind unlicensed product but those college cards just look good with the team logos.

I love rookie cards in college uniforms but unfortunately the resell isn’t as good as a RC in their pro uniforms.

I send some cards to COMC. They put stuff on their site and list everything on eBay as a buy it now listing. It’s relatively inexpensive and takes little effort on my part . Whatever I make off them from sales, I just use as store credit to buy cards I want. As long as you don’t take a payout there are no taxes.

I sell mostly on eBay. I’ve had a table at a few card shows in the Chattanooga area. They both have their pros and cons. I’ve done well at some “trade nights” a card shop use to have on occasion.

The sold comps on eBay for that exact same AR card is around $200 at the moment. It should be back by start of the season if I send it at the $40/card option. I expect Hooker cards to gradually come down in price since he won’t be the starting QB going into the season. It’s a “out of sight, out of mind” kinda business.
