Sports Card Collectors!

Not sure where they went. May have given them away ignorantly many moons ago. Had a wooden box full of cards grwoing up. Haven't had them for 30 years or more. didn't treat them like collectors, but had all the MLB biggies from the 70's and 80's. Several Hank Aaron cards. Had a Clemnte card. Stargell. Rose. Ryan. Had 'em all. Best of my memory, just gave the box to a family friend. Unless it's a rare mint card, my son says the higher vaulues are with current top athletes verses legends.
We had a lot of MLB and NFL cards back in the 60s, though we did not take good care of them. My late brother was a big Pirates fan; had Clemente, Alou, etc. I hope his son got those cards. Dunno.

I think they should do reprint of the old sets (60’s era) and do jersey patches from that time.

Imagine pulling a Mantle with a piece of his jersey

No!🫣 I watched an '81 Topps Nolan Ryan for a week on eBay and just before auction end. I looked closer and it was a reprint from Topps Archive. It didn't mention it in the auction anywhere.

Me and my son don’t really collect football but we need to pick up a Hendon Hooker.
The Strawberry and Cafego...I need those in my life!!
We just grabbed a Sean Murphy this past week but need to get our hands on a Matt Olson.

Sunday show was good. Got some good deals on more soccer from people doing blowouts. I don’t buy much baseball but I did get one baseball card on partial trade. Filled a hole in my soccer collection but I have to send for reslab due to bit of smek on the case that don’t want to clean off.31E1C3E9-0EC7-4C9C-8FB4-97598053D366.jpeg

@cobbwebb0710 I talked this person down to $80, yay or nay. All Griffeys

I could’ve swore a few of those have sold for $100+.

So either it’s a scam or I’ve seen the wrong comps

I’m gonna be honest, I’d take that $80 and buy myself a nice ‘89 Upper Deck Jr.
I wouldn’t pay $80 for that lot but that’s JMO.
Maybe I need to inspect it a little closer.

I can’t tell what the one in the big screw down is?
Is the ‘89 Topps traded a “Tiffany?”
Not gonna lie, that Score dream team is sweet! I used to have that card. If these are in really good shape and you plan on having some of them graded, it is a good buy. I found the 89 Topps for $20 buy it now, in a PSA9...

I found two 89 He’s for $60 each, pristine condition, but the seller wants to sell his stuff in bulk and wouldn’t even sell one. Was really sad, it was beautiful.

now that I really sat down and look at it, that’s barely over $1 per card. Some look like inserts.
Pretty good deal if you’re a Jr fan.
If you like it, go for it!

I can’t quit looking at that batting leaders!! That is a really nice 7!
😍

All about the centering with the old stuff. Card can be pristine but most collectors won’t touch if centering is bad. Doesn’t have to be perfect but need a decent amount of white on all edges. If I am thinking about future value for vintage, I’ll take a well centered 5 or 6 over a significantly off center 8. That one in a 7 is worth about $500. Add a thousand for an 8 with similar centering. If you some how have one that can get a 9, probably $10k.

Yeah sadly most of the cards I have would come back in the 2-4 range.

One of the Mantles, and and Aaron’s would probably come back around 7 range.
