Sports Talk..unbearable for you?

IMO Ainge's show is the best local sports radio since Mike Keith did Sportstalk in the 90s.

Ainge's show is easily the most entertaining thing I've listened to on Knoxville sports radio.

Too bad it doesn't draw flies... no ratings = no revenue. It's not even a laughingstock in the ad community.. because it has zero ratings.

Listen to their ads... "mention TSR and get 50% off"... that's in almost all of their ads. No one of any quanity or quality are listening. Anytime a radio station "begs" in a commercial for response, you know they are a non-factor.

For enjoyment only...try the Basilio show on from 11-1 on 1180. It is fact-free, rumor heavy and super entertaining. The commercials that feature Basilio are politically incorrect..does an asian accent in a sushi commercial...tries to put a spanish flair in a mexican restaurant commercial...almost offensive. I still manage to giggle everyday at one of his diatribes...give it a listen

It's no better in Chattanooga. We have sport talk 102.3. Its just ok...They sit around and talk themselves with out taking calls way too much. They're not former players or "experts". They have a show because it is supposed to give listeners a chance to join that discussion and offer their own opinions. they also have WAY too many commercials. Sometimes I make the entire 20 minute drive home without ever hearing any sports.

We have a show on 1180 called 'bros going hard'...it is unlistenable. They always talk about random subjects that have 0% to do with sports.......worst local show on the radio

I've heard it.... it's embarassing for Knoxville IMHO.

They have so few listeners they never show up in the Arbitron ratings. Even the worst of the worst stations at least show up in the ratings (at least every now and then.)

This station never has enough listeners to show up in the ratings.

I think Doc just gave away his identity. Doc, your show sucks.

Why would any listener or fan on VN care about TSR's ratings?

As long as Ainge is on the air making my morning commute more pleasant then that is all I care about.

Doc-Jeff-Heather show causes road rage IMO.

Its not doc he didnt reference the lady vols, I'm guessing someone who works at state run radio though, referencing arbitron smh........ Sounds like sour grapes from the station pumping out crappy boring cookie cutter radio day in and day out. If you have anything to do with the abomination that is doc jeff and heather you should spend less time trolling abt the 1180 guys and more time on your show because it sucks out loud.

The sushi commercial is hilarious. I had to stop and think, "Did he really say that?" Then I LMAO.

Try the sports monster out of greenville. It's on 640am here in johnson city. They have great coverage locally and cover UT sports pretty well for being outside K-town. Really good sports talk. I believe they start airing at 0600-1000 hrs in the mornings. They stream ESPN radio in the after noons somtimes and then have local sports talk again in the evenings. That when i usually catch it. Overall, great station to listen too.:good!:

I've said it before on here, but it bears repeating. I've lived in alot of areas, in alot of college sports towns similar to Knoxville. That Doc, Jeff, and Heather show is the worst sports radio show I've ever heard. They don't even try to hide their utter contempt for their listeners. It's like they wish their listeners would just go away, so they could brown nose in peace.

The Ainge show is good. It's nothing super special, but compared to its competition, it's award winning radio.

I two like TSR much better just wish they would/could move to FM. 99.1 blows in the morning. Jeff is the only decent one on there.

The Sports Animal has gone way down hill the last couple of years. Doc, Jeff and Heather might be the worst show I've ever listened to.

TSR is much more enjoyable to listen to, except for Bros Going Hard. Just pitiful.

Yeah, that's pretty terrible. Reminds me of the old 90.3 UT Sports Radio show with Jamie Schagrin.

they have nowhere to go but up. vastly improving and the rival radio station is in a downward spiral. if 1180 got josh and will there would be a major major shift imo.
