I kinda like Spurrier. I read somewhere the two schools he would have liked to been head coach was Tennessee and Alabama. Too bad they didn't fire Fulmer a year earlier...
Have I hated Spurrier at times? Yes.
Do I like Spurrier? Yes.
Would I have liked for him to have spent his career coaching at Tennessee? Hell yes!
Anyone here that says that they wouldn't are simply lying.
Spurrier is good coach and nothing more. He's is not in the elite of coaches. He is average at best. Look at his total history in coaching. He couldn't make it in the pros as a coach ( or as a player ). The only way he makes a name for himself right now is that Tennessee is not what they were, Florida is not what they were and Georgia is really the same way. When these three get back the Spurrier can do no better that 4th place in the east. I wonder when south Carolina will wake up and figure out this "has been" is getting paid way too much. The only thing spurrier has mastered is throwing back the bottle. Even Pete Carroll is better coach than "ole ball slush".
