Spurrier being Spurrier. Takes a jab at UT

Steve Spurrier is a horses ass and an idiot! And you can tell him I said so! Of course he meant it as a jab, and if you think you can make nice with that Jack @#& you'd better think again. He hates Tennessee, and I hate him. He is the most conceded person in the SEC, and maybe the whole country!

Spurrier should be worried about his diminishing coaching and recruiting ability. Or how he has no grip on his team or staff. These days Old man Steve is in the news more for running his mouth and explaining why his players tell him when they're playing. Not much of a jab. Could have been worse coming from that drunk old man.

Here this is for you.

Nice archival footage. Surprised we don't see any dinosaurs in the photo, though.

It was kind of a joke man. I wasn't being critical of SOS , actually I was kind of praising him. Trust me, I'm not going to be knocking on someone for having a few.

The "look at me" thing is a quote from a movie. I guess you didn't see that one. I have a tendency to do that.

Oh I see my bad. I am horrible at detecting humor/sarcasm after midnight. Carry on

I kinda like Spurrier. I read somewhere the two schools he would have liked to been head coach was Tennessee and Alabama. Too bad they didn't fire Fulmer a year earlier...

That is a funny line and actually true. He has more appearances than Dooley, Kiffin, or Jones but not for long with Jones.

At least once with Duke in mid-late 80's (I was a student and went to that game - even at that game he gave us more trouble than it should have been even though we won the game).

He beat UT with Duke in 1988 31-26.

Lost the next season.

It's not a jab at anyone. It's a head game with CBJ.

Spurrier used to get into Fulmer's head, and Fulmer would have the guys wound up so tight that they couldn't play. The Ol' Ballcoach is trying to see if CBJ is a Fulmer.

I agree with this. I do think the OBC is testing the waters here. He had some good things to say about CBJ at Media Days, and now I think he wants to see what Coach is really made of.

Butch said in an interview recently that he didn't even know about the government shutdown until several days into it when someone told him. As unlikely as this sounds, I actually completely believe him. I'd be pretty surprised if he even bothered to read any smart remarks by Spurrier and I strongly doubt he would let them get under his skin even if he had. Doesn't seem like the type to me.

As the old ball coach ages I am growing fonder of his humor....or just numb from the years of not being able to stuff that crap back down his pie hole.

Just not sure what it is.
