Spurrier's Comments on Saban

His thoughts on Nick Saban and what he’s done at Alabama.

“He’s got a nice little gig going, a little bit like (John) Calipari. He tells guys, ‘Hey, three years from now, you’re going to be a first-round pick and go.’ If he wants to be the greatest coach or one of the greatest coaches in college football, to me, he has to go somewhere besides Alabama and win, because they’ve always won there at Alabama.”

Looks like someone's jealous.

haha saban is going to hang 50 on him this year...by the way the OBC would murder a school bus full of orphans to coach at Alabama

We don't play them this year. Not that this excuses what he said, but we did beat them by fourteen the last time we played them. SOS can talk a little bit of smack.

I've always liked Spurrier. He always has something funny to say. What he says about UGA is right and funny, unfortunately. I guess Spurrier has already forgotten about Garcia.

If he hasn't forgotten Garcia I bet he wishes he could. I can't believe Spurrier gave Garcia that many chances.

The job spurrier did at duke to get the fla job was his best work. Notice they never won b4 or since his departure. Also has sc with most games won ever last year. Not a bad coach but still a douche.

I want to hate Spurrier more than I already do, but quotes like those make it very difficult.

That said, he's dead to me until he leaves South Carolina.

That was, without a doubt, the best game that the Cocks have played under Spurrier.

I'm convinced that Spurrier sold Stephen Garcia's soul to the devil to get that performance.

I imagine he would be the first to tell you that Garcia was/is an idiot. He was constantly belittling him in the media.

Agreed. They played so well. Everything bounced our way. We haven't put together a performance close to that before or since then.

Quoted on NBC Sports Talk talking about Saban and Richt

On Saban:

““He’s got a nice little gig going, a little bit like Calipari. On Richt and moving the Georgia game on the schedule:

“I don’t know. I sort of always liked playing them that second game because you could always count on them having two or three key players suspended.”

Surprisingly did not take a shot at the Vols, Fulmer or former Dawgs coach Ray "Goof"

ROFL! You gotta love 'em. Even when he continues to get older than dirt, he still cracks me up.

Let's see if I get this correctly. Spurrier has one National Championship in 30+ years of coaching. Saban has 3 in the last 7 years he has coached in college. Yep, now I see where the bitterness comes from.

Me thinks he had a nice little gig there in Florida. When it comes to counting SEC titles, he's finally getting it. Going somewhere else is cryptic for doing without.

Yeah, going 8-0 against Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, and bitter rival Clemson the last 2 years, at South Carolina, is small potatoes.
